About the role
As (Senior) Process Development Engineer (m/f/d), you will play a key role in advancing wide band gap technologies such as SiC and GaN, driving innovation from process development to industrialization. Working closely with production, quality, and global partners, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our wafer fabrication capabilities and support the next generation of efficient, high-power devices.
This is your new job
Develop modules and wafer fabrication processes for discrete wide band gap products like SIC MOSFET and GaN HEMT on site in Hamburg and for other locations
Continuously increase know-how in wide band gap wafer processes
Investigate competitor processes and technologies
Build up and maintain internal contacts
Conduct process optimization projects, setting up new manufacturing processes in own wafer fabs or in foundries abroad.
You will be assigned to projects that develop new or altered wafer manufacturing processes by creating, optimizing and combining unit processes together with the engineers in production and quality.
This is you
Bachelor or Master's degree in an Engineering field, preferably in Microelectronics or Semiconductor Physics
Ideally several years of experience in this field
Knowledge of semiconductor devices with special focus on SiC MOSFET and GaN HEMT
Experience with implementing semiconductor manufacturing processes especially for wide band gap materials into industrial environment
Hands-on experience in wafer processing with the required equipment
Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken
Good organization and planning skills
Team player with a strong drive to achieve success
Willingness to travel
This is your department and colleagues
You will be part of a dynamic, international, and multidisciplinary product development team, working closely with experts across product, process, production, and quality engineering. Together, the team drives the development of innovative semiconductor solutions, from concept to industrialization.
With a strong focus on collaboration, the team ensures that development outcomes are successfully transferred into operations, delivering robust, clearly defined, and scalable manufacturing processes. As part of the wider development organization, the team plays a key role in creating technologies and products that meet evolving customer demands.
This is what Nexperia offers
You will work on the wide band gap technology for the future progress in e-mobility, artificial intelligence or renewable energies in a strong and growing team of experts.
Good to know
Main site for development is the fab in Hamburg but depending on the assigned project, travelling is part of the job.
