Job Description: Business Intelligence Manager

Position Summary

The Business Intelligence (BI) Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and operational excellence of enterprise analytics, reporting, and AI-enabled insights. This role oversees BI platforms, data visualization, and analytical solutions—including the responsible application of AI and advanced analytics—to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. The BI Manager partners with business leaders, data engineering, AI governance, and security teams to ensure insights are accurate, explainable, secure, and aligned with business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute the enterprise BI and analytics strategy, including AI-enabled insights, aligned to business objectives and data governance standards
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of BI developers, analysts, and analytics engineers
  • Establish prioritization frameworks for analytics and AI-driven use cases
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business and executive stakeholders on analytics and AI capabilities

Analytics, AI & Insights Delivery

  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of dashboards, reports, predictive models, and AI-assisted analytics products
  • Enable the use of AI for trend analysis, forecasting, anomaly detection, and insight generation using governed enterprise data
  • Ensure consistent semantic models, metrics definitions, and explainable outputs across BI and AI solutions
  • Partner with data science and data engineering teams to operationalize AI outputs into BI platforms and business workflows
  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted self-service analytics while maintaining data quality, lineage, and control

Platforms & Technology

  • Own BI and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and their integration with AI and cloud data platforms
  • Support AI-enabled features such as natural language query, automated insights, and embedded copilots where appropriate
  • Define standards for dashboard design, AI explainability, usability, accessibility, and performance
  • Lead platform optimization, licensing strategy, and cost management across BI and AI tooling

AI Governance, Security & Responsible Use

  • Ensure AI use of data complies with enterprise AI governance, security, privacy, and ethical standards
  • Partner with security, risk, and compliance teams to enforce access controls, sensitivity labeling, and usage monitoring
  • Support model transparency, bias awareness, and auditability for AI-derived insights
  • Maintain documentation for AI use cases, assumptions, and limitations

Data Governance & Quality

  • Enforce data governance, certification, and lifecycle management for BI and AI assets
  • Establish data quality and AI output validation processes
  • Maintain business glossaries, metric definitions, and AI-enabled analytics documentation
  • Support audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements related to analytics and AI

Stakeholder Engagement & Value Realization

  • Translate business questions into analytics and AI use cases with measurable outcomes
  • Enable business teams through training on BI tools, AI-assisted analytics, and responsible usage
  • Measure and report on analytics and AI value realization, adoption, and business impact

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, or related field
  • 7–10 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data platforms
  • 3+ years of experience leading BI or analytics teams
  • Strong expertise in BI platforms (Power BI preferred) and enterprise data architectures
  • Demonstrated understanding of AI-assisted analytics and advanced analytical techniques
  • Proven experience partnering with senior business stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in managed services, consulting, or multi-client environments
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, BigQuery)
  • Exposure to AI platforms, embedded analytics, or analytics copilots
  • Knowledge of data cataloging, lineage, and governance tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview or equivalents)
  • Experience operationalizing AI insights within enterprise reporting environments

Skills Required
