In a typical day, this role may manage publication workflows, build and maintain content calendars, collaborate with creative and business partners, review content for clarity and alignment, and help shape stories that meet customers in the moments that matter.
The Senior Print Publication Content Strategist manages the day-to-day content strategy and execution for Humana print publications. This role translates audience insights, business priorities, and editorial opportunities into clear publication plans and engaging content experiences. The strategist partners across creative, editorial, marketing, compliance, analytics, vendors, and business teams to deliver content that is accurate, on brand, and easy to use. This work supports Humana by helping members, patients, caregivers, and communities connect with timely information that can support better health decisions and stronger engagement.
Key Role Functions
Manage day-to-day interactions with print publications, including intake, planning, stakeholder coordination, reviews, and delivery timelines
Produce and maintain the content calendar, ensuring themes, milestones, dependencies, approvals, and publication schedules are clear and current
Lead development of print publication content that engages customers in their everyday lives and reflects audience needs, brand standards, and business priorities
Partner with creative team members as well as, compliance, analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver engaging audience-centered content
Use performance insights, stakeholder feedback, and publication learnings to improve content quality, relevance, efficiency, and impact over time.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, Publishing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
5+ years of experience in content strategy, editorial strategy, publishing, journalism, marketing communications, or related content roles
3+ years of experience developing, editing, managing, or coordinating content for print publications or recurring editorial programs
Demonstrated experience building and managing editorial calendars, content plans, production schedules, or publication workflows
Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to manage reviews, approvals, and delivery of content in a fast-paced or matrixed environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare, insurance, financial services, government, publishing, media, or another regulated industry
Experience developing print publication content for members, consumers, patients, caregivers, older adults, or health-focused audiences
Experience with content management, workflow, planning, approval, or analytics platforms such as Workfront, Aprimo, Adobe Experience Manager, or similar tools
Experience using audience insights, performance data, readability standards, or stakeholder feedback to improve content effectiveness
Strong editorial judgment with experience translating complex business or health-related information into clear, engaging, and actionable content
