We are seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator that will be working in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment.  The candidate is responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software infrastructure for classified programs. This role is a full time 100% Onsite position

**This is onsite position in McKinney, TX. **

What YOU will do:

  • Server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support.

  • Working with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned. 

  • Act as a senior technical resource for the team by informally directing day-to-day DT activities, resolving complex technical challenges, and mentoring personnel in support of operational excellence.

  • Prioritize and assign tickets to lower-level team members, ensuring timely resolution and effective workload distribution. 

  • Participate in meetings with customers, providing technical guidance and best practice to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Develop, document, and enforce system administration processes, standards, and best practices. 

  • Install and configure software applications requested by end users.

  • Provide work effort beyond standard work hours on occasion.

What YOU will learn:

  • Expertise in Multi-Platform Environments: Enhance technical skills by working in a collaborative, multi-platform environment that includes Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux systems. 

  • Proficiency in Advanced IT Systems Management: Develop in-depth knowledge of server and storage management, cross-platform authentication, data backup/restoration, and software/license configuration for classified program support. 

  • Cybersecurity Collaboration: Gain experience working closely with Cybersecurity professionals to ensure compliance with security requirements and develop documentation for advanced IT processes and procedures. 

Qualifications YOU Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required on Day 1 Start.

  •  Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.

  • SME level experience with some of, but not limited to, the following technologies: Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, NETAPP, networking administration experience, Windows or Linux administration, backup, and recovery enterprise suites.

  •  Experience with Server architecture and troubleshooting methods and be able to assist in developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.

  • Experience assisting with troubleshooting, patching, and support Windows, ESXi and Linux Systems.

  • Experience with Windows Server internals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods. 

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, Windows desktops (Windows 10, 11), Splunk and ESXi and/or other virtual computing methods.

  • Scripting/ automation PowerShell, Bash experience.

  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) and an Operating System Certification. 

  • Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF.

  • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions.

  • Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.

  • Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SCCM, and/or Exchange

  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.

  • Experience in DevSecOps, containerization, Kubernetes.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
