BAE Systems Precision Strike (PS) is looking for a Project Engineering Manager (PEM) to support the development of industry-leading Global Positioning Systems (GPS) products, overseeing technology development, and lead the factory transition of products from across the organization. In this role, the PEM will take the lead engineering position on proposal and project execution efforts and will be responsible for ensuring that engineering cost, schedule, and technical requirements are achieved. The PEM integrates inputs from multiple engineering disciplines into a cohesive, comprehensive execution plan. The PEM is responsible for planning, staffing, budget, schedule, risk and opportunity management, and scope management to ensure the product is fit for purpose. The PEM coordinates with the Program Manager (PM) to ensure all customer needs are met.
Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead engineering efforts for the factory transition of new products into Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and Full Rate Production.
• Collaborate across disciplines, functions, and business areas to effectively support engineering across the enterprise.
• Serve as the primary internal and external engineering point of contact for the project. Partner with the Program Manager, Operations and functional staff to develop and deliver products and systems that meet customer needs.
• Meet cost, schedule, and technical performance targets for projects throughout their life cycle.
• Ensure the preparation and approval of competitive, executable engineering bids that meet established price-to-win targets and grow the business.
• Develop and maintain measures related to engineering performance.
• Ensure the proper application of processes based on the size and complexity of the project.
• Establish goals, performance standards, budgets, and staffing plans.
• Improve processes and skills that accelerate program execution and improve quality.

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Candidates must be able to obtain a security clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of work experience or equivalent experience.
• Experience in project engineering management, including organizational design, planning, estimating, design management, and product verification.
• Experience leading diverse, multi-disciplinary teams in the solution of complex technical problems.
• Demonstrated leadership skills (soft skills, strategic thinking, business acumen, team building, and customer relationship management).
• Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex problems and develop improved methods to increase program efficiency.
• Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
• Strong team-building skills that enable collaboration and coordination within and across teams, functions, and other business units.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Experience in the transition of new products into production.
• Experience leading the maturation of defense or aerospace microelectronics and electronic systems from low Technology/Manufacturing Readiness Levels (TRL/MRL) to higher TRL/MRL.
• Experience establishing collaboration on projects across organizational boundaries and geographical areas.
• Experience employing agile development.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $120874 - $205486

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
