Candidate should have:
- A strong academic background with bachelor’s degree in civil engineering plus master’s degree in Tunnel Engineering, P.hD., or equivalent.
- Ability to lead project teams.
- Deliver projects.
- With 22+ years of relevant design experience in a consulting environment.
- Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent) within a relevant professional association.
- Excellent interpersonal and technical skills.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with international clients.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
- Conversant with tunnelling analysis software like Rocscience suite, Plaxis, FLAC, Phase2 etc.
- A willingness to travel on short term/long term assignments to UK and overseas.
Desirable Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering plus master’s degree in Tunnel Engineering, P.hD., or equivalent is preferred.
- Structural engineering codes and standards experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Engineering Geology and Tunnel design and Construction Methods.
- Numerical modelling software experience for design of excavations and/or concrete structures is preferred.
- Sufficient post-graduation experience, with a significant proportion gained with an engineering design company undertaking the design of tunnels or related infrastructure in Soft Ground and Hard Ground.
