Job Description:
1. Recruit, mentor, and develop a world-class systems and components engineer team.
2. Provide strategic direction and technical leadership for the systems engineering team, focusing on supporting technologies for H2 electrolysis. This includes H2 purification and drying, water treatment, cooling, and ventilation systems.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with the company's mission and objectives.
4. Support ambitious schedules while being responsible to and accountable for design integrity.
5. Develop and execute against the technology roadmap, ensuring it aligns with the evolving landscape of electrolyzer technology.
6. Develop Systems Engineering as a Center of Excellence within Ohmium, which means:
a. Mature best practices in PFD design, P&ID design, component selection, subsystem optimization, & subsystem testing
b. Drive wholistic design approach to the system, ensuring all subsystems cohesively work to deliver highly reliable product architecture
c. Work cross functionally between system, stack, and controls to deliver highly reliable system solutions to meet product specifications
d. Develop component suppliers for low cost, high quality, & high reliability system solutions
e. Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends, developing them into best practices and integrating them into our internal products to improve performance and efficiency.
f. Cultivate a culture of innovation within the team: fostering creative problem-solving, a willingness to take risks, continuous improvement, and working with appropriate levels of process and rigor.
g. Oversee the function’s successful execution of multiple engineering projects in parallel, ensuring timely completion at high levels of quality and within budget constraints.
h. Ensure the engineering team is engaging collaboratively with project managers to define project scopes, milestones, and deliverables.
i. Monitor project progress, identifying and addressing potential risks while implementing effective mitigation strategies.
j. Manage cost out initiatives to drive peak performance at the lowest overhead.
7. Guide and support your team for career development, training, and performance management.
8. Work with the Compliance team and design for world-wide compliance using ISO, EU, and US standards.
As the Senior Principal Engineer - Systems, you will be at the forefront of driving advancements in H2 electrolyzer systems. You will lead a team of engineers through design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems.
