About Marvell
Marvell’s semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, automotive, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities.
At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead.
Your Team, Your Impact
As a Hardware Design Senior Principal Engineer with Marvell, you’ll be a member of the Central Engineering business group. If you picture Marvell as a wheel, Central Engineering is the center hub providing IP to be used by all the other spokes on that wheel, including Automotive, Storage, Security, and Networking. You’ll be part of the printed circuit board (PCB) engineering team designing boards for many different groups at Marvell. Additionally, Marvell is designing more complex chips and boards than our competitors, for higher speeds than anyone else. We’re on the leading edge of this technology and you’ll love being a part of this.
What You Can Expect
Create next-generation high-speed automotive products. Perform SI/PI and EMC analysis in designing working solutions ranging from chip to chip, board to board, and system to system. Conduct lab EMC measurement and drive the discussion towards issue resolution. Provide training to other team members. Participate and contribute to national and international conferences and technical committee discussions for automotive EMC. Develop test plans to validate signal and power integrity. Develop/simulate/validate channel models with electromagnetic field solvers, such as Ansys HFSS and SiWave. Review and optimize package and PCB design to ensure signal and power integrity. Perform PCB timing analysis, work with board engineers and layout designers to implement all SI/PI rules and develop layout/SI/PI/PDN checklists. Perform SI DVT measurements on boards and correlate simulations with DVT measurements. Telecommuting is permitted. Wage $217,000.00 – $227,000.00 per year.
What We're Looking For
Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Experience must include three (3) years with each of the following:
• Ansys HFSS, SIwave, DesignerSI, HSPICE, and Agilent ADS.
• Electromagnetic theory.
• Applying EM theory to solving SI/PI/EMC issues in a modern high-speed system.
• EMC design and debugging techniques.
• Modern digital signal processing technique for data communication systems.
• Transmission line theory and high-speed Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) design.
• Board stackup, trace geometries, and impact on SI.
• Lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, VNA, TDR, and logic analyzers.
Additional Compensation and Benefit Elements
With competitive compensation and great benefits, you will enjoy our workstyle within an environment of shared collaboration, transparency, and inclusivity. We’re dedicated to giving our people the tools and resources they need to succeed in doing work that matters, and to grow and develop with us.
