Champion Intelsat's 5G/3GPP RAN standardization and future 5G applications. Represent Intelsat's interests at the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), in particular at the Technical Specification Group RAN WG meetings for the purpose of contributing to the production of reports and specifications that define and standardize NTN Ku band applications and 5G technologies.
What you will do

  • Support the Ku band 5G NTN standardization and ensure GEO and NGSO services are integrated with terrestrial to achieve end-to-end ecosystem services.
  • Analyze and advise on the contributions submitted by other delegates to the RAN WGs.
  • Engage with the 3GPP ecosystem members to build broad consensus across the ecosystem and influence and drive direction.
  • Create detailed scope requirements for the Ku band 5G NTN work items to support studies and specifications development for the Ku band and Intelsat product mobility services for both GEO and NGSO.
  • Perform detailed analysis and simulation for the spectrum coexistence of NTN/TN and physical layer bandwidth allocation of various services.
  • Prepare technical documents and present them to influence decisions leading to the approval of specifications.
  • Demonstrate analytical mindset and multi-task and project management for high-capacity results despite competing priorities and/or deadlines.


Your required experience/skills

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics with emphasis on cellular communications specialties or equivalent (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered instead of the stated requirement).
  • At least 10 years of advanced engineering innovation experience, including Cellular Communications systems, satellite communications systems, broadband communications, and complex systems engineering projects.
  • A solid knowledge of the 3GPP features up to Rel-16, and NR and LTE radio access layers.
  • Strong knowledge of LTE & NR 3GPP specifications, especially in the areas of the Physical Layer, Radio Resource Management, and performance validation.
  • Involved in the development of requirements, and specifications of releases 16/17 and 18 and actively participated in 3GPP.
  • Good background in commercial non-3GPP platform communication (DVB-S2X) and 5G NTN RAN stack protocols focusing on spectrum coexistence of NTN/TN and radio resource allocation.
  • Good understanding of 5G NR waveform and 5G RAN protocol stack.
  • Ability to prepare technical documents and present them to the 3GPP standard working groups.
  • Strong analytical skills in the spectrum coexistence of NTN/TN and physical layer bandwidth allocation of various services.
  • Candidate should be action-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills that enable the influencing of others towards solutions and agreement.
  • Experience in presenting technical data and metrics to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to multi-task and make time-critical decisions.
  • Promote good working relationships with peers and stakeholders by maintaining a productive working relationship with project sponsors, key customers, and department members, ensuring that communication is responsive and that a mutual understanding is obtained, either orally or in writing

  • An understanding of how technical decisions relate to business strategies and commercialization of products satellites and services.
