Job Description:
The Transaction Products team part of Core Products organization consist of highly motivated, self-driven individuals who take great pride in our work culture. This talented team strives to deliver competitive transaction capabilities, and product policies that offer seamless and secure payment experiences to meet the evolving needs of our network participants. In this role, you will work closely with Transaction Products and Core Products leadership to define strategic opportunities for emerging capabilities which come from market trends and voice of customers for transaction processing. Individual will conduct market research, work with external consultants, and internal team members to strategize capability development for Transaction Products.
What You'll Do
- Leads and supports various stages of strategy development, including but not limited to evaluating and supporting execution of various business optimization and business growth initiatives, and evaluating organic and inorganic business levers.
- Has experience with the payments market landscape, conducting analysis, and leading execution of major business growth, business development, and or business optimization activities. Supports aspects of strategy development, and supports and or leads due diligence, financial modeling related to strategy and business opportunity development.
- Supports internal and external relationships related to strategy and business opportunity development and collaborates with leadership and functional colleagues to execute initiatives. Fosters a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization
How You'll Do It
- Research and investigate industry trends and opportunities in support of Discover's strategy by independently selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Works on problems and projects of diverse scope related to advancing business objectives and growth strategies.
- Conducts analysis on business opportunities and business projects. Coordinates with cross-functional teams and external resources to manage processes related to strategy development and required due diligence.
- Partners with Product Managers to funnel their industry research needs and help them to strategize their product roadmaps
- Develops presentation materials regarding opportunities, analysis, and or transactions and recommendations to leadership.
- Leads components of presentations (e.g., financial technical analysis) to leadership.
Qualifications You'll Need
The Basics
- Bachelors in Business Administration and Management or related
- 6+ years in M&A, investment banking, corporate development, transaction advisory, consulting, or related
- In lieu of education, 10+ years M&A, investment banking, corporate development, transaction advisory, consulting, or related

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $106,000.00 to $178,800.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
