Job Description:

We are looking for a highly analytical and commercially minded Senior Principal Business Analyst to join our Growth Analytics organization in a role focused on improving how King understands, models, and scales growth.
This role sits at the intersection of Marketing, Product, Finance, Analytics, and our game teams. You will work on some of the most important commercial questions for the business: how marketing investment translates into player growth, revenue, profitability, and long-term company performance; how CPI, RPI, elasticity, incrementality, and player quality interact; and where King should invest to unlock the next level of sustainable growth.

As Senior Principal Business Analyst, you will help raise the quality of the analytical and commercial thinking behind major growth decisions. You will shape how models are interpreted, challenge whether assumptions make sense, connect insights across teams, and ensure outputs are translated into better investment, forecasting, and strategic decisions.

This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who can operate independently in ambiguous environments, bring structure to complex business questions, and influence senior stakeholders through analytical depth, commercial judgement, and clear communication.

Your Role Within Our Kingdom
  • Define the Commercial Logic Behind Growth Decisions
You will help establish the frameworks King uses to interpret growth performance, evaluate investment opportunities, and connect marketing activity to broader company outcomes. You will ensure that models, assumptions, and recommendations are not only analytically sound, but commercially meaningful and relevant to senior decision-making.

  • Set the Standard for Growth Model Interpretation
You will raise the quality of how analytical models are interpreted and applied across the business. This includes assessing outputs from attribution, elasticity, incrementality, forecasting, or player-value models, identifying where outputs are directionally useful or commercially fragile, and ensuring insights are translated into decisions the business can confidently act on.

  • Strengthen Forecasting, Elasticity, and Investment Governance
You will shape how forecasting and investment assumptions are created, tested, and governed across growth planning. You will assess how CPI, RPI, player quality, product performance, marketing scale, marginal returns, payback, and expected value interact, ensuring assumptions are evidence-based, commercially realistic, and aligned with company goals.

  • Guide Portfolio-Level Growth Trade-Offs
You will bring structure to complex investment questions across games, channels, geographies, audiences, and marketing initiatives. You will help senior stakeholders understand where additional investment is likely to create value, where returns may begin to soften, and where alternative growth opportunities or product synergies should be prioritised.

  • Connect Marketing, Product, Finance, and Company Performance
You will shape how the organisation understands the relationship between marketing performance, product outcomes, player behaviour, monetisation, retention, live operations, and company-level growth. You will identify where product momentum, marketing activity, and portfolio strategy can reinforce each other to create stronger commercial outcomes.

  • Drive Better Executive Decision-Making
You will turn complex analysis, model outputs, and uncertain evidence into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders. You will explain what we know, what we do not know, which assumptions matter most, and what trade-offs are required. Your focus will be on improving the quality, consistency, and confidence of strategic growth decisions across the organisation.

  • Raise the Analytical Bar Across Teams
You will act as a senior expert and multiplier across Growth Analytics and partner teams. You will coach others on commercial reasoning, modelling interpretation, assumption quality, and executive communication, helping build stronger analytical judgement across the organisation.
Skills to Create Thrills
  • Advanced Analytical and Commercial Thinking
You are highly skilled at turning ambiguous business questions into structured analytical problems, connecting data, assumptions, and commercial context to clear recommendations.

  • Financial and Growth Acumen
You understand how marketing investment connects to revenue, profitability, forecasting, and company-level performance. You are comfortable working with concepts such as CPI, RPI, ROAS, payback, incrementality, marginal returns, player quality, and investment efficiency.

  • Elasticity and Forecasting Expertise
You have experience working with elasticity, response curves, scenario modelling, investment planning, or commercial performance models. You understand how changes in investment can affect both cost and return, and how to assess whether scaling assumptions are realistic.

  • Technical Fluency and Model Judgement
You are comfortable working with large datasets and analytical workflows using SQL, Python, R, or similar tools. You have the technical fluency to understand model logic, challenge outputs, identify weak assumptions, and assess whether conclusions are well supported by the evidence.

  • Cross-Functional Influence
You can work effectively with Marketing, Product, Finance, Analytics, and game teams, creating clarity around complex questions and helping stakeholders align around better decisions.

  • Executive Communication and Judgement
You can explain complex analytical concepts in simple, business-relevant language. You know when to go deep, when to simplify, when to challenge, and how to communicate uncertainty, trade-offs, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Tasty Bonus Points
  • Experience in gaming, mobile apps, digital entertainment, or another high-scale consumer business.
  • Experience working on marketing investment models, response curves, elasticity analysis, forecasting frameworks, attribution models, or commercial planning tools.
  • Experience connecting marketing performance with product outcomes, engagement, retention, monetisation, or portfolio-level financial performance.
  • Experience working closely with Finance teams on forecasts, investment cases, budget planning, or business performance reviews.
  • Knowledge of tools and platforms such as BigQuery, Looker, Airflow, Python, R, or modern data modelling workflows.
  • A passion for using data to improve strategic decision-making, challenge assumptions, and unlock sustainable growth.
