Senior Pricing Manager - Pricing Operations

An exciting Senior Pricing Manager opportunity has arisen within the Customer Channel Group Pricing Operations team. This role reports to the Senior Director, Pricing Operations and provides leadership across three critical operational functions: Research Pricing Administration, Healthcare Pricing Administration, and Rebate Management. The position has three direct reports and oversight of a broader organization of 20+ colleagues.

The Senior Pricing Manager is a key leader within Pricing Operations, responsible for ensuring strong day-to-day operational performance while identifying and leading opportunities to transform how we work. This individual will lead experienced teams, establish and evolve operating mechanisms and performance measures, and drive complex process improvement, technology, automation, and business transformation initiatives from concept through implementation.

Success in this role requires a strong combination of people leadership, operational discipline, project leadership, analytical thinking, and business acumen. The Senior Pricing Manager will operate with a high degree of ownership and independence, proactively advancing priorities while maintaining strong communication, stakeholder alignment, and appropriate escalation.

This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA and is an in-office role.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Operational Performance

  • Provide leadership and oversight across Research Pricing Administration, Healthcare Pricing Administration, and Rebate Management, ensuring effective, accurate, and timely execution of critical pricing and rebate processes.
  • Establish clear expectations and accountability for operational performance, service, quality, controls, and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Develop and evolve daily management practices, standard work, KPIs, dashboards, and other operating mechanisms that provide meaningful visibility into business performance, trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Use data and operational insights to identify root causes, prioritize opportunities, improve performance, and demonstrate the measurable value delivered by the organization.
  • Maintain ownership and accountability for applicable internal and external audit controls and ensure appropriate processes, documentation, and controls are maintained and continuously improved.

Drive Transformation and Continuous Improvement

  • Proactively identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and improve pricing and rebate processes, tools, and ways of working.
  • Lead complex cross-functional improvement initiatives from opportunity identification through implementation and benefit realization, including significant technology-enabled projects.
  • Develop compelling business cases for improvement opportunities, including problem definition, proposed solutions, resource requirements, expected benefits, return on investment, risks, and implementation considerations.
  • Apply Practical Process Improvement (PPI) and other continuous improvement methodologies to solve complex business problems, eliminate inefficiencies, improve quality, and create scalable solutions.
  • Identify and advance opportunities to leverage automation, artificial intelligence, data, and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and the colleague and customer experience.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements and partner effectively with technology and other functional teams throughout solution design, development, testing, implementation, and adoption.
  • Establish appropriate project governance, milestones, measures of success, and communication mechanisms; proactively manage dependencies and risks and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Ensure completed initiatives deliver sustainable results by measuring outcomes against expected benefits and embedding new processes, tools, and operating practices into the organization.

Lead and Develop the Organization

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of experienced people leaders, creating an environment of ownership, accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Build organizational capability through effective talent development, coaching, performance management, succession planning, onboarding, and knowledge sharing.
  • Empower leaders and teams to solve problems and make sound decisions while providing appropriate direction, support, and accountability.
  • Promote a culture in which colleagues actively identify opportunities, challenge existing ways of working, use data to make decisions, and take ownership for delivering results.
  • Attract, develop, and retain strong talent while supporting professional and technical growth across the broader Pricing Operations organization.

Partner, Influence, and Execute

  • Serve as a trusted operational partner to Commercial, Finance, Commercial Finance, IT and other internal stakeholders, building strong cross-functional relationships and ensuring Pricing Operations capabilities support broader business objectives.
  • Partner closely across the broader Pricing Operations organization, including Pricing Support, Training, Audit, and other teams, to align priorities, resolve complex issues, and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous business problems, using sound judgment, analytical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration to develop and implement practical solutions.
  • Operate with a high degree of initiative and autonomy, independently advancing work while maintaining appropriate communication and visibility with leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Effectively influence across a complex, fast-paced, highly matrixed organization and build alignment among stakeholders with differing priorities.
  • Anticipate risks and emerging issues, resolve challenges at the appropriate level, and exercise sound judgment regarding when leadership involvement or escalation is required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management, Economics, Operations, or a related field required
Experience
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in Pricing Operations, Sales Operations, Finance, Commercial Operations, Business Operations, or a related function, including significant people leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading managers and/or sizable operational teams, with a strong track record of developing talent and building high-performing organizations.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional projects and transformation initiatives from problem identification and business case development through implementation and measurable benefit realization.
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements, including the use of structured continuous improvement methodologies such as PPI, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar approaches.
  • Experience partnering with technology teams on system implementations, automation, digital transformation, or other technology-enabled business improvements.
  • Pricing, rebate, or Customer Channel Group experience is preferred. Experience with GPOs and healthcare rebate processes is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
  • Strong operational leadership and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and translate them into actionable improvement initiatives.
  • Strong project and program leadership skills, including business case development, ROI analysis, requirements definition, stakeholder management, risk management, implementation, and benefits measurement.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to develop meaningful KPIs, interpret complex data, identify trends and root causes, and translate insights into business actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and use performance management systems, standard work, dashboards, and operating reviews to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Strong curiosity and interest in emerging technology, with the ability to identify practical opportunities for automation, artificial intelligence, and digital tools to improve business processes and outcomes.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and comfort working with business intelligence, reporting, and analytical tools. Experience with SQL, Microsoft Access, Databricks, Cognos, or similar technologies is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues clearly, build alignment, and work effectively across functions and organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, take initiative, manage multiple priorities, and maintain appropriate communication and stakeholder visibility.
