We are looking for a Senior PR Specialist to support the development and execution of strategic public relations, media relations, thought leadership, and reputation-building initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller who can identify compelling narratives across the business and turn them into clear, engaging communications for the media, customers, stakeholders, and the wider public.

You should have a strong understanding of the Nigerian media landscape, fintech and business trends, with the ability to proactively identify opportunities that strengthen brand visibility, credibility, and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

PR & Storytelling

  • Develop compelling PR narratives and story angles around products, partnerships, initiatives, customer impact, CSR, and corporate reputation.
  • Identify newsworthy stories and translate complex business or technical information into engaging content.
  • Support communications plans for key campaigns and business initiatives.
  • Ensure PR narratives align with the company's brand positioning and reputation objectives.

Media Relations & Thought Leadership

  • Support thought leadership opportunities for senior executives and subject matter experts.
  • Draft and edit opinion articles, speeches, talking points, LinkedIn content, panel notes, and executive briefing materials.
  • Identify relevant media platforms, industry conversations, and speaking opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media organisations.

Trend & Opportunity Identification

  • Monitor industry developments, cultural trends, consumer conversations, competitor activity, and breaking news.
  • Proactively identify PR opportunities that increase brand relevance and visibility.
  • Recommend timely story angles and media interventions.
  • Identify emerging reputational risks and communications opportunities.

Campaign Execution & Reporting

  • Support PR campaigns, product announcements, corporate communications, and reputation-building initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maximise PR opportunities across the business.
  • Track media coverage, reach, sentiment, share of voice, and campaign impact.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and campaign-specific PR reports with actionable recommendations.

Reputation Management

  • Monitor media, social platforms, and industry conversations for potential reputational risks.
  • Support the development of holding statements, FAQs, media responses, and crisis communication materials.
  • Support the management of misinformation, negative coverage, and sensitive media enquiries.
  • Maintain accuracy, consistency, and discipline across external communications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in PR, Corporate Communications, Media, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing PR campaigns and securing media coverage.
  • Strong understanding of the Nigerian media and communications landscape.
  • Existing relationships with journalists and media organisations are highly desirable.
  • Experience in fintech, technology, financial services, telecommunications, or another fast-paced consumer industry is an advantage.
  • Experience supporting senior executives or thought leadership programmes is desirable.
