The Role

Company Description

Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money.
Min fees. Max ease. Full speed.

Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.

As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money.
For everyone, everywhere.

More about our mission and what we offer.

Job Description

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the PR strategy across Australia and New Zealand: Develop and execute a comprehensive communications plan that covers earned media relations and integrated campaigns. You’ll drive measurable results through compelling narratives that elevate the Wise story across different media verticals. Think speaking to travellers and shoppers looking for the best way to manage their money in another currency, businesses with global ambitions, banks looking to modernise their international payments capabilities and policymakers who want to bring transparency and fairness to the sector.

    • Increase your impact and grow your career by taking on work in Asia: By being a part of the APAC PR team, you’ll have the opportunity to further advance your career and impact by expanding your remit to scale some of Wise’s fastest growing markets in Asia alongside your Asia PR teammates.

  • Manage our agency network: Oversee our PR agencies in both Australia and New Zealand, ensuring consistency in brand messaging and effectiveness of campaigns across the region.

  • Cultivate meaningful relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets in both markets to ensure Wise remains top of mind brand across editorial channels which you know spans print, digital and broadcast including podcasts.

  • Plan and execute cutting-edge integrated creative PR-led campaigns: Bring fresh, creative ideas to the table and develop campaigns that are deeply rooted in local insight for Aussies and Kiwis - recognising that the two are not the same.

  • Work cross-functionally: Partner with our Marketing, Brand, and Influencer teams to ensure communications efforts are aligned and reflect a consistent brand voice across all platforms.

  • Strategic counsel and crisis management: Provide expert guidance on issues management, proactively addressing any brand concerns.

  • Lead performance tracking: Manage and report on all PR activities, ensuring data-driven insights and a clear understanding of success across regional campaigns.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • A wealth of experience in public relations: You’ve worked as an Account Director or above at an agency or in-house as a PR Manager with demonstrable experience in Australia and New Zealand. Bonus if you’ve got financial services experience.

  • Expert media relations skills: You have a proven ability to create compelling stories and generate maximum media coverage, with an extensive network of contacts across editorial landscapes in both countries.

  • Creative, strategic thinking: You can think outside the box and translate bold ideas into successful communication strategies and have demonstrable experience in executing integrated PR led campaigns.

  • Strong writing and speaking skills: Crafting press releases, pitches, creative campaign briefs and thought leadership pieces is second nature to you and you’ll know how to bring the best out of our spokespeople.

  • Crisis management expertise: You can protect the brand’s integrity and navigate challenging situations with poise and have demonstrable experience in doing so.

  • Mission-driven individual: A genuine, enthusiastic interest in our mission and developing great ideas to make financial services fairer.

What’s in it for you:

We offer you a position in the driving seat at one of the world’s foremost tech companies and a chance to truly be a part of something great. It goes without saying that you’ll be a part of a fun, friendly atmosphere, with plenty of opportunities to grow personally and professionally.

The salary for this role ranges from $109,500 to $156,000 plus super depending on experience and skills. The total compensation package also includes annual RSU grants so you get to own a piece of Wise, and a whole host of other benefits which you can find out more about here.
