About you and this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Predictive Preventive Maintenance Coordinator in Orange, Texas.

Provides input into the development of the maintenance strategy on those issues dealing with PPM aligned with electrical instrumentation & analytics (EI&A). Owns and manages Maintenance Management System (MMS) with respect to PPM and acts as the local focal point on the CMMS system for the PPM space.

Responsibilities

  • In cooperation with the Reliability Engineer or Maintenance Engineer / Technologist, gathers appropriate PPM information to be performed on existing or new equipment. 
  • Ensures that scheduled services are entered into the CMMS based upon Global or Local requirements, equipment reliability strategy or reviews of new equipment that is being installed. 
  • Performs quality control check on the following for daily maintenance, expense & capital projects requests. Completes checks prior to sending to Master Date Administrators (MDA’s) for upload into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
    • EI&A PPM: creation, changes and deletions - including correct codes, standards descriptions, task lists, etc.
    • Technical Characteristics:  creation, changes and deletions - -including ensuring mandatory fields are populated where required
    • MRO Bill of Materials (BOM’s): creation, changes and deletions 
  • Manage all equipment Bill of Material (BOM)-parts lists 
  • Ensure high quality EI&A PPMs are entered into the CMMS by:
    • Uses “quality feedback” from the Person Doing Work (EI&A techs) to optimize the task lists. Carry out field check(s) in collaboration with Field Planner when needed.
    • In collaboration with Field Planner identify/solicit safety information and requirements necessary to safely perform PPM tasks. Include document links or long text. Identify task list operations activities necessary to execute job plan. 
    • In collaboration with Field Planner creates & updates materials/manpower estimates, tools, equipment, documents, procedures required to perform operations on PPM task list based on various feedback sources.
    • Work with MDA on maintenance plans and items. Assure plan and item data is properly documented. 
    • Participates in routine and special EI&A PPM optimization activities
    • Identifies opportunities to adjust EI&A PPM intervals and works with the Reliability Engineer and equipment owner to evaluate the impact of the change.
    • A resource that provides input to the Field Planner when EI&A PPM clarification is needed.
    • Maintains “Reason for Maintenance Item”. Why we are doing PPM including long text special notes and proper reason codes.
    • Assists during root cause investigations where PPM practices have been identified as a potential cause.
  • Supports Maintenance Procedure Use Policy by applying PUP requirements to PPM tasks.
  • Tracks compliance of completion of EI&A PPM tasks and advises the Plant Leadership and Reliability Engineer of any issues impacting the effectiveness of the PPM program. 
  • Utilizes Automated Deferral Process in SAP based on local operating discipline.
  • Provide as needed technical input in developing the maintenance budget. PPM coordinator may be asked to run reports which show labor and overall cost forecasts for PPM.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a High School diploma or GED and one of the following: 
    • 2-year degree in an instrumentation technology or electrical technology plus 3 years of experience.
    • 5 or more years of experience in electrical instrumentation & analytics.
  • Current, valid US driver's license.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

  • Apply predictive and preventative maintenance principles 
  • Apply Operating Discipline for Predictive Preventative Maintenance work process
  • Apply Maintenance planning principles to PPM work
  • Apply planning and scheduling procedures (OD) as it pertains to PPM
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in Electrical, Instrumentation & Analytical maintenance hardware disciplines.
  • Follow the Global Maintenance Work Process 
  • Utilize the Maintenance Information Systems 
  • Collaborate on spare parts identification process 
  • Utilize the Management of Change process to affect change 
  • Generate and interpret report(s) and results
  • Support reliability/availability evaluations
