About the company
Our client is a defense and aerospace manufacturing company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the electrical power hardware for high-performance flight vehicles, carrying boards from first concept through testing and into production. This is a hands-on position with end-to-end responsibility for important subsystems inside a small electrical engineering group.
What you'll do
- Create circuit boards that convert, switch, regulate and distribute electrical power for flight vehicles.
- Take responsibility for each design across its whole life, from early schematics to lab testing, troubleshooting, verification and handoff to manufacturing.
- Set your own technical requirements and shape the broader power architecture with the full vehicle in mind.
- Size and develop high-voltage, high-current power paths that drive actuation and feed critical electronics.
- Lend support to ground-based power equipment when needed, in parallel with flight hardware work.
Requirements
What we're looking for

- A bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Solid background in motor drive, power conversion and power distribution circuit design.
- Working knowledge of Altium or a comparable PCB layout tool.
- Comfort using simulation software to model and validate circuit behavior.
- Experience with flight-grade or other high-reliability hardware in aerospace, defense or automotive settings.
- A history in fast-moving startup or high-ownership teams.
- Proven record of personally driving hardware from design to production instead of only overseeing requirements.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
- Based in or willing to relocate to the Los Angeles area.
