Senior Power BI & MicroStrategy Consultant

Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior BI Consultant with strong expertise in both Power BI and MicroStrategy to design, develop, and deliver scalable business intelligence solutions for enterprise clients. This professional will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to transform complex data into actionable insights through modern reporting, dashboarding, and analytics solutions.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience developing and supporting enterprise BI environments across Power BI and MicroStrategy, including data modeling, semantic layer design, dashboard development, reporting, and analytics. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into impactful data solutions are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise BI solutions using both Power BI and MicroStrategy.
- Create and support dashboards, reports, dossiers, scorecards, and analytical applications across multiple BI platforms.
- Gather and translate business requirements into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
- Design and optimize semantic layers, data models, hierarchies, metrics, attributes, and KPIs.
- Develop and maintain calculations, measures, and business logic within Power BI and MicroStrategy environments.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data quality, governance, performance, and scalability.
- Support data integration, reporting modernization, and BI platform enhancement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing BI solutions, reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
- Participate in BI architecture discussions and contribute to best practices, standards, and governance processes.
- Work directly with business users, stakeholders, and clients to deliver data-driven solutions and actionable insights.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data Visualization roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with both Power BI and MicroStrategy development and administration.
- Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query, semantic layer design, and data modeling concepts.
- Experience developing dashboards, reports, dossiers, and enterprise BI solutions.
- Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
- Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and BI architecture.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
- Experience interacting directly with business stakeholders and client-facing environments.
- Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently in a remote consulting environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or other cloud-based analytics platforms.
- Knowledge of data integration, ETL, and data pipeline development.
- Experience with enterprise-scale BI migrations, modernization, or platform optimization initiatives.
- Previous experience in consulting or professional services environments.
- Experience supporting multiple BI platforms and enterprise reporting ecosystems.
