About the opportunity

This role sits within the Policy, Governance and Regulatory Affairs team and is responsible for supporting policy reform across the Education and Students Portfolio. You will provide high‑level analysis, advice and written communications to ensure the University remains aligned with evolving legislative and regulatory requirements. Your work will directly influence policy quality, compliance integrity and strategic decision making across the institution. The role works closely with academic and professional staff to support implementation of the University’s Collective Excellence (CE28) Education priorities, including the Curriculum Quality and Sustainability (CQS) project.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • work closely with the Senior Manager, Policy and Legislative Compliance and key stakeholders across the Education and Students Portfolio

  • coordinate policy review and reform projects, including drafting new and amending existing policies and procedures

  • support the development of a new curriculum policy framework

  • monitor legislative and regulatory changes and assess implications for University policy and compliance

  • prepare high‑level written communications, including committee papers, briefings, presentations and strategic reports

  • support strategic projects relating to compliance, governance and regulatory reform.

About you

  • demonstrated capability in policy development, review and reform, including drafting complex policy documents

  • experience translating legislative and regulatory requirements into internal policies or guidelines

  • experience working in the higher education sector, public service, or a large complex organisation

  • understanding of higher education course and curriculum structures, policies, and requirements

  • experience providing high‑level regulatory and compliance advice to senior stakeholders

  • strong capability in research, analysis and preparing written reports, submissions and committee papers

  • tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
