Job descriptionWe are seeking a Senior Platform Engineering Lead to design, define, and lead a next-generation platform architecture spanning on-premise data centers and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
This role is primarily architecture- and strategy-focused, responsible for establishing a unified platform across Application, Data, and AI domains, including emerging Agentic AI capabilities.
You will set the technical direction, standards, and blueprints, while guiding engineering teams to deliver a scalable, secure, and future-ready platform.
Key Responsibilities
1. Platform Architecture & Strategy
- Define and own the target architecture for a unified hybrid platform across:
- On-premise infrastructure
- AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Establish a platform-as-a-product model with reusable services and self-service capabilities
- Develop reference architectures, design principles, and standards across all layers
2. Technical Leadership & Governance
- Act as the primary architecture authority for platform engineering
- Provide guidance and oversight for engineering teams implementing the platform
- Define architecture governance, review processes, and technology standards
- Ensure alignment between platform design and business goals
3. Application Platform Architecture
- Define architecture for modern application platforms, including:
- Kubernetes-based environments (EKS, AKS, GKE, on-prem)
- Microservices and service mesh patterns
- Establish DevSecOps and CI/CD architecture standards
- Drive design of Internal Developer Platform (IDP) and self-service capabilities
- Define observability architecture (monitoring, logging, tracing)
4. Data Platform Architecture
- Design scalable data platform architecture, including:
- Data lake, data warehouse, or lakehouse models
- Batch and streaming data processing frameworks
- Define data governance, security, and integration architecture
- Ensure interoperability across cloud and on-prem environments
5. AI & Agentic AI Platform Architecture
- Define architecture for AI/ML platforms, including MLOps pipelines
- Lead design of Agentic AI platform capabilities, including:
- AI agent orchestration frameworks
- Integration with LLM platforms and enterprise systems
- Agent lifecycle management, reasoning workflows, and safety controls
- Establish standards for integrating with:
- Azure AI, AWS SageMaker, Google Vertex AI
- Define infrastructure patterns for GPU and high-performance workloads
6. Infrastructure & Multi-Cloud Architecture
- Design architecture for on-prem data center environments:
- Virtualization (VMware, OpenStack)
- Networking, storage, disaster recovery
- Define multi-cloud landing zones, connectivity, and governance models
- Establish Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards and patterns (Terraform preferred)
7. Security, Compliance & Reliability Architecture
- Define security architecture:
- IAM, encryption, secrets management
- Establish zero-trust and secure-by-design principles
- Define frameworks for resilience, scalability, and high availability
- Guide adoption of cost optimization (FinOps) practices
8. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead and mentor platform architects and engineering teams
- Collaborate with:
- Application teams
- Data & AI teams
- Infrastructure and security leaders
- Drive adoption of platform standards and architectural blueprints
- Communicate architecture vision to technical and business stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 10+ years in platform engineering, cloud architecture, or infrastructure architecture
- Strong experience in:
- Designing hybrid and multi-cloud platforms
- Defining enterprise-scale architecture standards
- Proven leadership experience in architecture or senior technical roles
Technical Skills
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Deep expertise in at least two cloud platforms:
- AWS, Azure, GCP
- Strong understanding of on-premise infrastructure and data center architecture
Containers & DevOps
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes ecosystems
- Understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automation frameworks
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
Data Platform
- Strong architectural knowledge of modern data platforms
- Experience with data ecosystem tools (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery preferred)
AI / Agentic AI (Preferred)
- Experience designing or enabling AI/ML platforms and MLOps pipelines
- Understanding of:
- LLM ecosystems
- Agent-based systems and orchestration frameworks
