Senior Platform Engineer
Apex Fund Services is a rapidly expanding global Fund Services Company with more than
13 000 staff based in more than 100 locations world-wide. The Senior Platform Engineer will play a crucial role in providing advanced technical expertise and leadership in the design, migration, and integration of Microsoft 365 services. This role will also deliver SME-level support for BAU / RTE (Business-As-Usual / Run-The-Engine) operations, ensuring optimal performance and compliance across the O365 ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and experience in large-scale O365 migration and integration initiatives.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Lead and participate in O365 migration projects, including tenant-to-tenant migrations, hybrid deployments, and legacy system transitions.
- Design and implement integration strategies for Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and related services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of migration plans with minimal business disruption.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex O365 issues across Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and security/compliance features.
- Provide guidance and best practices to BAU/RTE support teams for troubleshooting and service optimization.
- Actively participate in BAU/RTE activities, ensuring ongoing operational excellence and service continuity across the O365 ecosystem. Provide direct support to the BAU/RTE teams during critical incident handling, serving as a technical escalation point and collaborating to resolve high-impact issues efficiently.
- Maintain documentation and knowledge base for operational teams.
- Ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory standards across O365 services.
- Configure and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Retention Policies, eDiscovery, and Conditional Access.
- Work closely with security teams to implement Microsoft 365 security features and monitor compliance posture.
- Plan, organise, and manage O365-related projects from initiation to completion.
- Define project scope, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders effectively.
- Stay current with Microsoft 365 roadmap and recommend enhancements to improve productivity and security.
- Conduct regular health checks and performance reviews of O365 services.
Experience and skills
- Proven experience as an O365 Subject Matter Expert or similar role.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 services: Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and security/compliance features.
- Hands-on experience with migration and integration projects in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of Entra ID, Conditional Access, and Identity Management.
- Project management skills with experience in leading technical initiatives.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Microsoft certifications such as MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator), MS-700 (Teams Administrator) or any other relevant MS cloud certificate
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
