Senior Platform Engineer
Role Overview
The Customer Network Engineering team is seeking an accomplished Senior Platform Engineer to advance our customer experience strategy through innovation, engineering excellence, and continuous optimization. This role is critical to the design, delivery, and operation of MasterCard's mission critical global network infrastructure, ensuring secure, resilient, and uninterrupted payment services worldwide. The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling MasterCard's growth, innovation, and reliability objectives by delivering high availability, low latency network platforms at global scale.
Key Responsibilities• Design, implement, and operate high availability, low latency network infrastructures across enterprise and global environments.• Own the end to end delivery of network infrastructure initiatives, ensuring alignment with agreed SLAs, timelines, budgets, and risk tolerances.• Proactively track project milestones and communicate risks, dependencies, impacts, and mitigation strategies to technical and business stakeholders.• Collaborate closely with cross functional teams across Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, Engineering, and Product to align network initiatives with broader technology and business strategies.• Apply disciplined project, change, and risk management practices, including dependency analysis, migration planning, testing strategies, and rollback procedures, to ensure operational excellence and stability.
Required Qualifications & Experience• 7+ years of experience leading complex network projects within large scale datacenter environments, preferably in the financial services industry.• Strong hands on experience with TCP/IP communications and advanced network troubleshooting.• Good understanding in Layer 2, layer 3 networking, including BGP, MPLS, EIGRP, LAN, WAN, SDWAN, MACSec• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network connectivity issues in business critical environments.• Exposure to cloud networking across platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.• Strong documentation skills, including the creation of SOPs, architectural diagrams, and technical runbooks.• Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Willingness and ability to work on site three days per week.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)• Professional certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or vendor specific certifications (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet).• Experience with hybrid and cloud networking architectures, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and technologies such as PrivateLink.• Proficiency in French.• Strong experience using Atlassian tools, particularly Confluence, for technical documentation and collaboration.• Familiarity with automation tools, including gluware or ansible for network automation and orchestration.• AI & intelligent automation exposure• Ability to develop or modify scripts to automate tasks, monitor systems, or streamline processes
