ABOUT THIS ROLE
We're seeking an innovative, passionate, and forward-thinking individual to join us as a Senior Platform Engineer. This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced team with the urgency of a startup and the expertise of an established organi s ation . Due to the space we innovate in, your products will process billions of transactions per day in real-time and power both startup and established industry participants. As a Senior Platform Engineer in this multi- disciplinary team, you will play an integral role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our API edge services, tooling, and infrastructure to ensure robust and secure API management. Collaborating closely with development teams, product managers, and system administrators, you will manage and enhance our API management solutions, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
Duties/Responsibilities

• Edge Services Management: Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level API edge services and infrastructure, ensuring they are well-organized, secure, and efficient. Support the implementation of best practices for API management, including version control, security policies, and traffic management.
• NGINX Configuration and Optimization: Collaborate on the configuration and optimization of NGINX servers to handle high-volume traffic efficiently. Assist in the implementation and improvement of load balancing, reverse proxy, and caching strategies to enhance performance.
• Automation and Integration: Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline deployments and configurations. Integrate API solutions with CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment process. Contribute to infrastructure automation efforts to support the deployment and management of our services.
• Documentation and Training: Assist in the creation of documentation, guidelines, and best practices for your services. Participate in training sessions to ensure teams understand and follow best practices effectively.
• Monitoring and Optimization: Collaborate in monitoring the performance and security of our services, identifying bottlenecks and potential issues. Assist in the optimi sa tion of infrastructure to ensure efficient delivery. Support the implementation of logging and monitoring solutions to provide real-time insights into performance and security.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between engineering activities and business goals. Assist in communicating updates, enhancements, and changes to relevant teams. Participate in post-implementation reviews and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Technical Leadership: Offer support and guidance to junior engineers on best practices and procedures. Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies .

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of prior experience
• Experience in platform engineering with knowledge of enterprise API management tools (Apigee, Kong, Tyk) and NGINX configuration.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), cloud platforms (GCP, AWS), and infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible).
• Knowledge of API management methodologies, security practices, and traffic management strategies.
• Knowledge of software release tooling, GitOps , and CI/CD practices.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and an iterative approach to delivering software.
