The Senior Platform Engineer plays a key role in supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of Lyten’s digital infrastructure. This role combines strong technical execution with operational responsibility to ensure that platform systems remain reliable, scalable, and efficient.

Working closely with platform, infrastructure, and software engineering teams, the Senior Platform Engineer helps implement platform improvements, troubleshoot complex issues, and support the deployment and operation of core infrastructure components. The role also involves maintaining documentation, assisting with system monitoring and performance optimization, and contributing to initiatives that improve platform reliability and operational efficiency.

Requirements

Educational background and previous experience required for the role.

  • Platform Engineering: Proven delivery of large-scale, mission-critical, cloud-native systems.
  • Technical Leadership: Leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing technical direction.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on AWS/Azure management, serverless architectures, and real-time data processing.
  • SRE & Security: Implementing SRE principles, incident management, observability, and security frameworks.
  • Mentorship: Experience mentoring engineers and foster continuous learning.
  • Typically require at least 7 years of related experience with a bachelor degree, or 5 years and a master degree, or a PhD with 4 years of experience or equivalent experience.  

Specific skills

  • Programming: Advanced proficiency in Bash, Python, and Go.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Deep knowledge of Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar tools.
  • DevOps & CI/CD: Experience with automated pipelines, testing, and deployment.
  • Serverless: AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, Kinesis
  • Cloud Networking: VPC, Gateways, Routes, Endpoints
  • Kubernetes: Helm, ArgoCD, EKS, k3s
  • Observability: Proficiency in monitoring, alerting, and post-mortem analysis. Prometheus, Grafana.
  • Security: Implementing RBAC, encryption, secure APIs, and compliance (ISO 27001, GDPR).
  • Cloud-Native Architecture: Microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), API-driven design.
