We’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our PEXA Go team. You’ll help build and operate the AWS platform behind PEXA Go, making sure it is reliable, secure and well supported as the service develops.
This is a hands-on engineering role. You’ll work closely with the Principal and Lead Platform Engineers to deliver platform priorities, improve the way infrastructure is deployed and operated, and help resolve issues when they arise. You’ll also work with software engineering, Technology Operations, Product, Security and Risk colleagues, so clear communication and good collaboration will matter just as much as your technical experience.
The role includes paid on-call support, responding to alerts and incidents as part of agreed arrangements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Building, configuring and maintaining the AWS infrastructure and platform services used by PEXA Go.
- Implementing infrastructure changes through code and automation, helping make delivery repeatable and dependable.
- Delivering upgrades, technical remediation and lifecycle work, while identifying dependencies and risks early.
- Improving monitoring, logging and alerting so teams can spot issues and understand what is happening across the platform.
- Investigating platform incidents and service problems, helping restore service and prevent the same issues from recurring.
- Making safe, documented changes to live services and contributing technical evidence and follow-up actions to incident reviews.
- Applying agreed security controls and engineering standards to infrastructure, access, configuration and platform changes.
- Keeping colleagues informed about progress, risks and technical options.
- Sharing what you know and looking for practical ways to make the platform and its day-to-day operation better.
What You'll Bring
- Hands-on experience engineering and operating production workloads on AWS.
- Practical experience using infrastructure as code, scripting and automation to deliver platform changes.
- Experience working with containerised applications and Kubernetes, including troubleshooting operational issues.
- Experience setting up or using monitoring, logging and alerting to diagnose production problems.
- Confidence investigating incidents and making safe, well-documented changes to live services.
- A sound understanding of cloud security, networking, resilience, backup and recovery.
- The ability to work effectively with software engineers and explain technical risks and options clearly.
You’ll take ownership of your work and follow issues through to resolution. When services are under pressure, you’ll bring sound judgement, keep others informed and escalate risks promptly. You’ll also be someone who enjoys working with others and sharing knowledge across the team.
Why Join Us?
You’ll have the chance to work on the platform behind PEXA Go and make a practical contribution to how it is built, supported and improved. You’ll be part of a collaborative engineering environment where platform work connects closely with software delivery, product priorities and the experience of our customers.
If you enjoy hands-on AWS engineering and improving the reliability of live services, we’d love to hear from you.
