We are seeking Platform Engineers who are passionate about creating and supporting DevOps tools with emerging technologies to join our team. As a Platform Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.
General Responsibilities:

• API Support and Onboarding:
  
  • Develop and maintain automation for onboarding new APIs and integrations into our platform.
  • Create and maintain documentation and tools to facilitate API adoption by internal and external partners.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting assistance for API-related issues.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting for API performance and availability.

• AWS Infrastructure Management:
  
  • Manage and maintain our AWS infrastructure, including EC2 instances, container services, and serverless technologies (AWS Lambda)
  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC)
  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our AWS environment.
  • Optimize resource utilization and cost efficiency within AWS.
  • Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Strategy Implementation and RTE Automation:
  
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our DevOps strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for automation across the Release Train Engineering (RTE) processes.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline deployments, configurations, and other RTE activities.

• Log Management:
  
  • Implement, and manage centralized logging solutions

• Monitoring and Dashboards
  
  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive observability solutions
  • Maintain monitoring custom dashboards

• Testing and Troubleshooting:
  
  • Participate in testing efforts to ensure the reliability and performance of deployments and infrastructure changes.

• Documentation:
  
  • Create and maintain clear and concise documentation for infrastructure, processes, and automation scripts.

• Continuous Improvement:
  
  • Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community
  • Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization and diversity

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
• At least 4 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory)
• At least 2 years of experience with AWS

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
• 2+ years of experience working with APIs
• 2+ years of experience deploying applications on Internet Information Services (IIS)
• 3+ years of experience with AWS
• 3+ years of experience with coding and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $127,500 - $145,500 for Senior Platform Engineer
Plano, TX: $115,900 - $132,200 for Senior Platform Engineer
Richmond, VA: $115,900 - $132,200 for Senior Platform Engineer
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
