Duties and responsibilities
- Develop, monitor, and update project schedules using industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Lead the planning and scheduling efforts from project initiation through to completion.
- Analyze project performance, identify risks and delays, and propose corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain detailed baseline schedules and periodic updates.
- Integrate cost and schedule data to support Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on schedule impacts and recovery plans.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and management teams to ensure alignment of schedules.
- Develop resource-loaded schedules and monitor productivity and resource utilization.
- Generate progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure all planning and scheduling work complies with organizational and contractual standards.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Engineering or a related field from a recognized university, with over 15 years of relevant experience.
- Master’s Degree (MSc) in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field from a recognized university, with over 12 years of relevant experience.
- Active membership in a recognized chartered institution (e.g., PMI, AACE, CIOB, ICE, or equivalent) is required.
- Proven experience in planning and scheduling of major construction or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and other planning tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and resource planning.
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and performance measurement techniques.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Experience in preparing claims/delay analysis is an advantage.
