Job Summary: The Senior Production Planner coordinates and expedites the flow work orders through IEA manufacturing work centers. The Planner receives specific work assignments, plans and prepares tactical (short-term) production schedules, and resolves most problems independently or in consultation with Production, Engineering, Purchasing and/or Quality personnel. The Planner is directly responsible for ensuring that all raw materials and components necessary for product assembly and/or fabrication are available at the appropriate time to guarantee uninterrupted and efficient processing of the production schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties assigned as necessary:
- Develop and maintain production schedule through ERP
- Provide daily priority and expedite reports to work center leads
- Coordination of labor resources to maintain work center on-time, utilization, and efficiency metrics
- Creation and maintenance of safety stock levels of inventory based on demand, cost, and lead times
- Proactive communication with procurement and materials department to ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials
- Generate lead time estimations for service and parts orders
- Daily interactions with warehouse staff to organize release and picking of work orders
- Collaboration with engineering department to resolve BOM and/or routing discrepancies
- Maintenance of ERP planning and item parameters to maximize accuracy and efficiency of manufactured and purchased inventory
- Receive, interpret, and execute Engineering Change Notices to existing inventory and WIP
- Attend daily production meetings and provide department schedule updates
- Provide various levels of production support
- Printing and distribution of work orders and drawings to production floor
- Facilitate and maintain Outside Processing requirements
- Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with and adheres to IEA’s ISO and Quality standards.

- Maintaining physical condition necessary for the following: Frequent standing, walking, or sitting; infrequent kneeling, crouching, stooping, squatting, twisting upper body, or climbing.

- Vision requirements: Close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception.
Work Environment:
- Work location(s): Office; metal fabrication/assembly shop.
- Exposure to: Fumes, airborne particles, wet/humid (non-weather) conditions, toxic/caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts/equipment, inclement weather conditions.
- Personal protective equipment requirement: Safety glasses when in shop areas.

- Ability to read, understand and interpret material specifications, purchasing and production documents, shop drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and the ability to follow safe work practices.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years background in manufacturing required and 3-5 years' experience in scheduling/planning or supply chain management strongly preferred.
- Educational: Associate degree in manufacturing or related technical area is highly desirable.
