Senior PHP Engineer

Ciklum is looking for a Senior PHP Engineer to join our team full-time in Ukraine.

About the role:

As a Senior PHP Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. 

Our client is a global payments technology company providing payment processing, acquiring, and financial technology solutions to businesses worldwide. The client is undertaking a strategic enterprise transformation to consolidate its legacy Card Gateway and ACH platforms into scalable, standardized solutions, while reducing infrastructure and operational costs. In parallel, the company is exploring AI-assisted modernization of Clearing & Settlement Reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient PHP code
• Integrating data storage solutions like databases into web applications
• Design and architect enterprise grade applications which are scalable and can handle 10K+ concurrent users
• Creating and implementing robust security measures to protect web applications
• Collaborating with front-end, back-end, and full-stack developers to ensure seamless integration of user-facing elements
• Conducting code reviews, and providing constructive feedback to team members
• Managing project timelines and meeting deadlines consistently
• Optimizing web applications for mobile and cross-browser compatibility
• Providing technical support and troubleshooting issues reported by end users
• Documenting code, processes, and best practices for future reference
• Staying up-to-date on emerging PHP trends and technologies

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in PHP latest version, including its frameworks and libraries (e.g., Laravel and CodeIgniter)
• Strong knowledge in Web technologies like JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, bootstrap, jQuery
• Experience with database systems like MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git
• Work experience in OAuth, SSO
• Problem-solving and debugging abilities
• Understanding of web security best practices
• Excellent soft skills like communication and teamwork skills
• Time management and project management abilities
• Continuous learning and adaptability to evolving web technologies
