To this purpose, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Photonics Test Engineer who is committed to making a difference in the world through their contributions. You will be responsible for development of Photonics Testing process & equipment for NVIDIA's next generation products as part of the Advanced Technology Group (ATG).

Do you have a strong background in Silicon Photonics test and assembly? Are you proficient in one of the related fields, such as Optical Physics, Photonics design and Silicon Photonics fabrication? The job requires working on complex problems and building advanced products; you will be providing solutions that are highly creative and directly contribute to product differentiation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead Photonics test development for NVIDIA’s next generation Silicon Photonics products and platforms.

  • Responsible for defining test methodologies, test flow and parameters, designing and developing photonics test equipment and running various photonics test flows on the equipment.

  • Partner with test integration vendors to install, enhance and qualify Photonics Test equipment across multiple labs and manufacturing sites.

  • Work closely with internal design, fabrication and packaging cross-functional teams to develop new test requirements, test flows, help with design of different test structures, share data, and lead new Photonics testing processes.

  • Collaborate with fabrication, assembly, substrate, and test vendors and partners.

  • Drive continuous improvement in testing cycle time and test quality/reliability.

What we need to see:

  • Degree in Optics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or related fields with equivalent experience.

  • 7+ years of optical testing and/or optical packaging experience.

  • Strong background & experience in Silicon Photonics design, fabrication, test, packaging and assembly.

  • Hands-on experience in carrying out Photonics testing at wafer or chip-scale, building and qualifying Photonics test equipment and analyzing test data.

  • Strong statistical analysis skills – ability to use data visualization techniques to deliver test data analysis and optimizing test techniques.

  • Understanding of quality control, statistical process control and DOE techniques.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience in Silicon Photonics device design or fabrication, including familiarity with photonics test structure design.

  • Solid understanding of AutoCad, Zemax or other opto-mechanical software tools.
