Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Petrophysicist and Rock Physicist to join our EACIS Team based either in the Netherlands or the United Kingdom.
As a Senior Petrophysicist and Rock Physicist within GeoSoftware, you are responsible for independently executing consulting projects of conventional petrophysics, Seismic Petrophysics, and Rock Physics modelling, and conducting petrophysics and advanced rock physics training/courses to customers. You are expected to be able to develop and implement best practice workflows delivering advanced solutions with the highest quality results for GeoSoftware services. You should be able to successfully leverage your expertise in complex reservoirs to build, develop, and manage strategies for creating new consulting services and software sales.
You will work with a regional sales, marketing, and technical members of the EACIS Team. In this role, you will report to the EACIS Regional Technical Manager.
Main tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
Consulting Services
- Execute consulting projects of Petrophysics, Seismic Petrophysics and Rock Physics modelling.
- Conduct PP and RP training courses to clients as per industry standard.
- Prepare service bids and project proposals.
- Work in multi-disciplinary teams, demonstrating understanding and knowledge of other technical subsurface disciplines within GeoSoftware.
- Develop and implement best practice workflows of Integrated Petrophysics and Rock Physics modelling and deliver advanced solutions for GeoSoftware services.
- Create up-to-date and advanced training materials incorporating the latest GeoSoftware technology and workflows.
- Assist, develop and execute go-to-market strategies to increase consulting services and software sales.
- Leverage your reservoir experience to create new value proposition of GeoSoftware products and engage with customers’ technical buyers to explain these values.
- Discuss with customers’ technical buyers the advanced technical concepts of the GeoSoftware products and integrated workflows providing solutions to challenges throughout the life cycle of a reservoir/field.
- Conduct ‘needs for assessment’ analysis to understand client’s technical challenges and advise on the best solution using tailor-made workflows.
Operational
- Successfully execute software evaluation and consulting projects inside the GeoSoftware office or the customer’s site
- Support the software and science behind it.
- Assist the sales team in the ongoing sales cycle to satisfy all technical requirements and preparation of technical proposals for consulting services and software sales.
- Building and maintaining customer relationships at a level of trusted advisor
- Publish technical papers in technical conferences or Journals of repute.
- Prepare and deliver webinars on technical topics for both internal and external audiences.
Skills
- Expertise in Seismic Petrophysics, Reservoir Petrophysics and Rock Physics modelling.
- Well log data QC and conditioning.

Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
- European work permission.
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Petrophysics/Rock Physics.
- Preferably experience with PowerLog/RPM/Rock SI software.
- Minimum 10 years technical experience in well log data QC, conditioning, petrophysical evaluation, rock physics modelling and seismic calibration.
- Published petrophysics and/or rock physics related papers in recognized journals or at regional or international conferences and workshops.
Desired:
- Extensive experience with well log data and geology of basins in Europe, Africa, and Central of Assia (EACIS) region.
- Familiar with Mud Logging, Wireline Logging, MWD, LWD, and Borehole Stability/Geomechanics.
- Hands-on experience on complex reservoir types (clastic, carbonate, sub-salt or unconventional).
- Eager to explore and apply artificial intelligence and machine learning.
