What you will do
The Senior People Systems Analyst ensures effective delivery of the best-in-class employee experience platforms, Workday HCM. This position will participate in the strategic execution of our Human Resources people-focused technology roadmap. This role provides technical business support and expertise for leveraging Workday and other technologies to enable HR processes and automation. Key areas of impact include:
  • Engaging in supporting the technology roadmap for HR, including the administration of existing systems and the analysis of integrating new solutions.
  • Managing assigned Workday modules, such as Core HCM, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Absence, Time Tracking, Payroll, and Talent, as well as other people-focused systems in fulfillment of organizational goals.
  • Collaborating with process owners to ensure effective use of the system capabilities, coordination of upgrades, and identification of new features that should be evaluated for implementation.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for end-to-end processes.
  • Collaborating with functional owners on the development of end-user training materials and participating in delivery of technology training on new functionalities.
  • Partnering with the other team members, information technology (IT), business partners, vendors, and business leaders to effectively meet the employee experience technology needs of the organization.
  • Supporting employees, managers, and HR to troubleshoot issues.
  • Researching, diagnosing, and resolving issues such as end-user, business process, and security.
  • Maintaining accurate change management documentation to satisfy Alliant Energy’s internal and external audit controls and compliance practices.
  • Leading interactive discussions with stakeholders to assess objectives and define requirements.
  • Leading design sessions and approving the design of functional requirements and specifications for new development and ongoing projects.
  • Engaging in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree IT, Business, Product/Project Management, HR, or other related field Preferred

Required Experience
  • 5 years of related experience

Preferred Experience
  • Workday HCM experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience developing and configuring systems, business processes, condition and validation rules preferred

Other Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Solid understanding of Workday modules including HCM, Benefits, Advanced Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Payroll, Performance, Payroll, Recruiting and/or Talent preferred.
  • Maintain working functional knowledge of assigned systems across multiple functions and teams, driving community collaboration and a commitment to a great support service experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience working with HR, IT, and end users through face-to-face and virtual connections.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to work with all levels within the organization
  • Working knowledge of Workday operations and administration
  • Ability to learn new products, systems, and modules owned by HR or Financials
  • Intermediate knowledge of Workday reports and security preferred
  • Basic understanding of system integrations
  • Must be organized with an ability to manage workload efficiently
  • Detail-oriented with strong ethics and integrity
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability gathering requirements from non-technical stakeholders
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Workday certifications a plus.

Pay Range:

This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
