Hello! We're Teya.
Teya is a payment and software service provider, headquartered in London serving small, local businesses across Europe. Founded in 2019, we build easy to use, integrated tools that enable our members to accept payments and boost business performance.
At Teya we believe small, local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities.
We’re here because we don’t believe there’s a level playing field that gives small businesses with a fighting chance against the giants of the high street.
We’re here because we see banks and legacy service providers making things harder for them. We don’t think the best technology or the best service should be reserved for those with the biggest headquarters.
We’re here to fight for a future where small, local businesses can thrive, and to commit the same dedication they offer all of us.
Become a part of our story.
We’re looking for exceptional talent to join our mission. We offer a chance to create impact in a high-energy and connected culture, while benefiting from continuous learning opportunities, a supportive community which is proud to serve our mission, and comprehensive benefits.
Your Mission
Southern Europe is one of Teya’s fastest-growing regions covering Portugal, Spain, Italy, and beyond, and we’re looking for a Senior People Partner to help build and strengthen our organisation across these markets. You’ll partner with the GM for Southern Europe and their local leadership teams to shape how we hire, structure, develop, and retain commercial talent.
Alongside your regional GTM focus, you’ll also partner with senior leaders across Tech and Corporate based in the region, working closely with other People Partners to ensure consistency and alignment. You’ll balance the pace and pressure of growth with the need for clear leadership, fair processes, and a culture of accountability that scales sustainably.
This role suits someone who thrives in complexity (multiple markets, languages, and leaders) and who can bring consistency, clarity, and focus across them. You’ll have real ownership from day one and will work closely with the broader People team to align regional needs with Teya’s global priorities.
Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted advisor to the GM and Southern Europe leadership team, aligning people plans with commercial strategy and market priorities.
Lead organisation design and workforce planning across multiple countries, ensuring structure, capability, and accountability support our growth ambitions.
Build leadership depth and talent pipelines, working with local managers to identify, develop, and retain top GTM talent.
Coach and challenge leaders to strengthen performance management, feedback culture, and decision-making discipline.
Lead regional execution of key people cycles (performance, reward, and engagement) ensuring fairness, rigour, and action in partnership with CoEs.
Partner with Finance and CoE teams to align headcount, incentives, and role design to business needs.
Anticipate and address people risks early, from retention and performance issues to structural misalignment.
Foster consistency and cohesion across markets while respecting local context, regulation, and culture.
Play an active role in shaping Teya’s People Machine in Southern Europe, embedding systems that enable teams to scale effectively.
Requirements
You’re an experienced People Partner who has operated across multiple European markets in fast-growing, commercial environments.
You understand how growth happens in practice (headcount, targets, incentives, structure) and how people strategy drives performance.
You’re commercially fluent, confident engaging in business discussions, and able to translate people insights into operational impact.
You’ve built credibility with senior leaders by combining sound judgement with a calm, data-driven approach.
You’re decisive, pragmatic, and clear in how you communicate, and you are comfortable influencing across cultures and levels.
You bring structure to ambiguity and move easily between strategic design and hands-on delivery.
Fluent in English and either Spanish or Portuguese, you navigate regional nuance with confidence and respect.
You have a passion for your work; you’re curious, commercially minded, and motivated by building environments where people and performance thrive.
