The Role
Location requirement - Bulgaria (please read before applying)

This role is hybrid, based in Bulgaria, combining remote work with in-office collaboration. Applicants must reside in Bulgaria and have a valid right to work in the country. Dext does not provide visa or work permit sponsorship for this position.

Contract type: Fixed-term contract
This role is part of our ongoing investment in strengthening People Operations, supporting consistent and high-quality delivery across the employee lifecycle.

Employment is conditional upon verification of identity, residence, and right-to-work documentation in accordance with applicable Bulgarian legislation.

Team, challenges & you

As a Senior People Operations Specialist, you will work closely with the People Partner Lead, supporting the delivery of People priorities across the organisation while partnering with managers and employees in a hybrid, remote-first environment.

You will oversee and continuously improve People Operations processes, ensuring they are efficient, compliant, and consistently delivered. The role combines operational ownership with cross-functional collaboration, contributing to the effective execution of People initiatives.

Role purpose

To deliver and continuously improve employee lifecycle processes, ensuring operational excellence, legal compliance, and a consistent employee experience, while supporting the delivery of People priorities through reliable and effective People Operations practices.

What you'll do

Employee lifecycle & HR operations:

  • Oversee the end-to-end employee lifecycle, ensuring accurate, compliant, and consistent execution of all processes
  • Deliver employment documentation (contracts, annexes, letters) in line with Bulgarian labour legislation (LC)
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of employee data across HR systems (e.g. Hibob)
  • Deliver HR processes aligned with local legal requirements and global standards

Onboarding & employee lifecycle delivery:

  • Coordinate onboarding to ensure smooth and consistent execution for new hires
  • Deliver and continuously improve induction practices from an operational perspective
  • Provide operational HR support on employee lifecycle matters, working closely with the People Partner Lead to ensure consistent process delivery

Compliance & payroll:

  • Ensure alignment with Bulgarian labour law, statutory requirements, and internal policies
  • Coordinate employment documentation, including contract changes and required notifications
  • Coordinate with accountants to support accurate payroll delivery, including variable inputs, absence data, and validation
  • Oversee benefits administration and employee communication

Employee administration & absence:

  • Coordinate leave and absence processes, including annual leave, sick leave, and statutory entitlements
  • Ensure accurate tracking, documentation, and system updates in line with local requirements

Offboarding & documentation:

  • Coordinate employee exits, ensuring compliant processes, complete documentation, and system accuracy
  • Maintain consistency and completeness of employee records throughout the lifecycle

Projects & operational improvement:

  • Drive improvements across People Operations processes, systems, and workflows
  • Deliver and support HR initiatives through effective operational execution
  • Coordinate engagement activities and internal People programmes from an operational perspective

What we’re looking for
  • Proven experience in People Operations / HR Operations
  • Strong knowledge of Bulgarian employment legislation and practices
  • Experience across the employee lifecycle, including payroll coordination and employee administration
  • Familiarity with HR systems (e.g. Hibob or similar)
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • High level of discretion when handling sensitive information
  • Strong attention to detail and process accuracy
  • Proactive and solution-oriented approach
