Sublime Systems is seeking a dynamic Sr. People Operations Manager to support the growth and objectives of our People Operations function. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Sr. People Operations Manager will collaborate with department leaders to align HR initiatives with business strategies, driving key people-related outcomes. You will play a critical role in supporting employee relations, compensation data management, and HR operational excellence as Sublime Systems scales to a 100+ person organization.

This role is focused on managing HR functions such as employee relations, compensation data management, performance management, and policy implementation. In this role, you will also manage a team of HR support staff, ensuring effective and efficient HR service delivery.


This is a full-time, in-person position in Somerville, MA, with flexibility to occasionally work from home depending on team and project needs. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Partner closely with department leaders to implement HR strategies and processes that align with organizational goals and business needs 
  • Manage, mentor, and support a HR support staff as needed, providing guidance and coaching to ensure smooth execution of HR operations
  • Lead the roll-out and optimization of HR systems, ensuring efficient delivery of HR processes, including onboarding, off-boarding, and employee data management 
  • Manage compensation data and apply practices around employee feedback and annual compensation reviews
  • Partner with leaders on compensation decisions during offers, internal moves, and retention efforts 
  • Implement and maintain HR policies and procedures that ensure compliance with labor laws, pay transparency regulations, and company objectives
  • Oversee the ADA/PWFA accommodation request process to ensure compliance
  • Provide guidance on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and performance management, ensuring a high level of engagement and productivity across the business 
  • Support the performance management cycles, including promotions, succession planning, and talent reviews 
  • Analyze and utilize HR metrics to drive data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement in areas such as employee engagement, retention, and compensation 
  • Partner with leaders to foster a culture of continuous feedback, coaching, and high performance through strategic employee engagement and leadership development programs 
  • Support leaders in managing organizational change, particularly regarding structural changes and HR processes, ensuring alignment with company goals 
  • Contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts, ensuring Sublime Systems builds a diverse, high-performing, and innovative workforce 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of progressiveHuman Resources experience, including at least 3 years in an HR Business Partner role or a similar position 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field 
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred
  • Experience in managing and developing HR support staff, providing coaching and guidance to ensure effective HR service delivery
  • Proven experience in partnering with senior leadership and driving HR strategies in a fast-growing, technology-driven environment, preferably in manufacturing or tough tech industries 
  • Strong understanding of employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance 
  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations, with a particular emphasis on pay transparency and compliance 
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills, with a track record of successfully navigating complex and high-stakes challenges 
  • Experience implementing and optimizing HR information systems (HRIS) 
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and identify trends 
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment 
  • Impeccable ethics and discretion, with a commitment to confidentiality
