Company Description

At sKids, we believe childhood should be full of laughter, learning, and adventure! Since 1996, we’ve been creating awesome out-of-school experiences for Tamariki across New Zealand. Today, we welcome thousands of children every day at over 140 school sites nationwide – and we’re still growing!

Job Description

We’re currently on the hunt for a Senior P&C Advisor to join our hard-working support office team based in Glenfield. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll be in the thick of it, partnering with leaders across multiple school sites.

As our Senior P&C Advisor, you’ll act as a trusted partner to leaders, guiding them through everything from day-to-day people decisions to complex employment relations matters. You’ll play a critical role in lifting leadership capability, driving consistency across sites, and helping shift the organisation from reactive HR to proactive, forward-thinking people practices.

A peek into your new role

  • Providing practical, commercially sound advice to leaders on ER, performance, conduct, and people management matters
  • Leading complex ER cases and investigations with confidence, discretion, and strong judgement
  • Acting as the senior people leader in the business, setting the tone for strong, consistent and fair people practices across sKids New Zealand
  • Owning and leading people-focused projects and initiatives that strength, simplify and embed policies, processes and frameworks
  • Reviewing and strengthening policies, frameworks, and people processes to improve consistency and compliance
  • Driving continuous improvement in how people practices operate day to day, shifting the organisation from reactive HR to proactive, future focused capability
  • Working alongside Talent Acquisition and P&C support roles to guide recruitment, onboarding, and workforce decisions
  • Using people data and insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and influence better decision making
  • Providing trusted advice and challenge to leaders, helping lift leadership capability and accountability across the organisation

What's in it for you?

  • Flexible working options including hybrid work (3 days in office)
  • A genuinely impactful role where you can shape how people practices evolve across the organisation
  • Exposure to complex ER and organisational change, not just BAU advisory work
  • The opportunity to partner closely with senior leaders and influence outcomes
  • A fast-paced, operational environment where no two days look the same

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a generalist HR / People & Culture advisory role, supporting leaders across the full employee lifecycle - multi site highly regarded
  • Strong ER capability, with experience managing complex cases and investigations end-to-end
  • Experience working in fast-paced, operational or frontline environments (retail, hospitality, education, care, etc.)
  • Confident coaching and influencing leaders, including challenging where needed
  • Data literate, with the ability to interpret workforce trends and translate them into actionable insights
  • Tertiary qualification in HR, Employment Relations, Business, or similar - desired
