About the Role

The purpose of this role is to provide advice, guidance, coaching and support to Petbarn General Managers, Area Managers and field teams across all areas of performance management, employee relations and people processes.

You will play a key role in enabling a positive team member and leader experience, supported by our HR technology stack, including SAP SuccessFactors. This includes supporting leaders to effectively use the system, as well as contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, workforce insights and people programs that enhance the overall team member experience.

Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Partner with retail leaders to provide timely, practical and solution-focused HR and employment relations advice
  • Advising Area Managers and Store Managers on all employee relations matters end-to-end, including performance management, misconduct, grievances and disciplinary processes
  • Operate effectively in a high-volume environment, managing competing priorities and responding to urgent matters
  • Take ownership of employee lifecycle transactions within SAP SuccessFactors, ensuring accuracy, compliance and data integrity
  • Prepare and review employment documentation, including contracts, variations and termination letters
  • Support and coach leaders on system use, processes and best practice approaches
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive more efficient ways of working
  • Contribute to internal communications, inclusion and belonging initiatives and broader People programs
  • Analyse workforce data and trends to support informed decision-making

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong HR generalist experience (5–8 years), with a focus on employment relations and providing practical, compliant and timely advice across a range of people matters
  • Proven experience managing sensitive and complex employee issues end-to-end, including complaints, grievances, misconduct, disciplinary processes and terminations
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, supporting senior leaders with urgent and competing demands
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and trust at all levels
  • Sound judgement, problem-solving and decision-making capability, including the ability to assess risk and provide advice under pressure
  • Significant hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors (Employee Central) and strong attention to detail in managing employee data and documentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with sound award knowledge and interpretation skills (desirable), and formal HR or IR qualifications (desirable)
  • Multi-site experience is essential, with a background in retail highly desirable
