About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Pension Analyst to join our Global Total Rewards Team, supporting Manulife’s Canadian retirement programs for active and former colleagues.  This role focuses on the administration, compliance and management of all our Canadian retirements plans (DB, DC, RRSP and supplemental).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day administration of Manulife’s Canadian pension plans and other savings plans for active colleagues and retirees.

  • Coordinate with our outsourced pension administration vendors to ensure data accuracy and proper administration of pension plans.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on pension policies, plan rules, and legislative compliance.

  • Serve as program manager for designated plans and vendors.

  • Support automation initiatives to improve efficiency and enhance service delivery.

  • Conduct data analysis to identify issues, determine root causes, and recommend solutions.

  • Manage participant escalations and collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve issues.

  • Coordinate with Payroll and vendors to complete time-sensitive pension activities.

  • Partner with IT to manage systems and related pension processes.

  • Provide guidance and support to employees and retirees regarding pension entitlements and options.

  • Manage and/or perform ad-hoc retirement projects for the Global Total Rewards team as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with Canadian retirement plans for both DB and DC plans.

  • Experience managing complex operational and administrative processes.

  • Strong knowledge of pension legislation, regulatory requirements, and compliance.

  • Demonstrated vendor management and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong project management experience.

  • Strong data analytics and mathematical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, with advanced Excel skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with ability to self audit. 

  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to interact effectively and empathically with participants at all levels of the organization. 

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CEBS or other pension, HR-related designation.

  • Previous experience with large Canadian pension recordkeepers.

  • Knowledge of pension operations and administration.

  • Familiarity with Workday or similar HR systems

Salary range is expected to be between

$73,725.00 CAD - $122,875.00 CAD
