The Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for the payroll process for multiple countries in the EMEA region and to provide and maintain the required expertise necessary to properly support all payroll operations in accordance with the companies’ policies and procedures and the local legislation. The current payroll department consists of 2 payroll employees. The Senior Payroll Analyst reports to the Director Accounting & Control and works closely with the HR department and other stakeholders.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare payroll input for several countries in EMEA including UK, NL, Germany, Italy, Spain, UAE, India and Belgium. France is to be added in near future.
- Monitor salary, roles and other changes based on headcount information received from HR.
- Maintain contact with the payroll provider SDWorx for monthly processing of the payroll for assigned countries.
- Process payments related to payroll for assigned countries.
- Main contact for payroll related internal and external audits for assigned countries.
- Main contact for treasury team and banks for assigned countries.
- Ensure and maintain an adequate control environment for payroll processing.
- Assisting the internal audit department with SOX controls testing.
- Manage tax and social security audits, working with tax advisors and liaise with local tax inspectors when requested for assigned countries.
- Ensure that the finance team receives accurate and timely input to account for all payroll related transactions for month end close (salary, PTO, bonus etc.) for assigned countries.
- Facilitate and maintain the proper understanding of payroll processing policies and procedures with the Payroll team and all other employees throughout the organization.
- Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and HR for assigned countries.
- Initiate and support process improvements and system implementations to ensure continuous enhancements of the payroll processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 5-plus years related experience
- Prior experience with international payroll operations
- Experience with Payroll software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Payroll software
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- “Hands-on” mentality
- Shows initiative and provides good follow-up on areas of responsibility
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
