About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Payroll Analyst to join our finance team. You will be responsible for managing and processing US payroll for the organization, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as, analyzing payroll data, and implementing payroll best practices. As Vercel prepares to operate as a public company, this role will be critical to help scale the payroll function to support the growth of the business.
You will report to Sr. Global Payroll Manager.
Preference will be given to candidates on Pacific or Mountain Time.
What You Will Do:
- Manage the end-to-end US payroll process, including payroll preparation, processing, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Analyze payroll data for discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
- Collaborate with the HR team to ensure accurate employee records and benefits integration.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports and tax filings in compliance with legal requirements.
- Conduct audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Develop and implement payroll procedures and policies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Serve as a point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.
- Support with month end close.
- Provide training and support to payroll staff and other departments as needed.
- Provide ad-hoc reports as requested.
About You:
- 4+ years of experience in multi-state payroll processing and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and tax compliance.
- Proficient in ADP WFN and MS Excel.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, human resources, or related field.
- Certification in payroll (CPP or FPC) is a plus!
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $124,000 - $150,000. This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
