As a Payment Business Analyst (BA), you will act as a liaison between technology and business teams to drive operational/process excellence, regulatory compliance, and commercial objectives within the payments domain. This role often involves cross-functional collaboration and a deep understanding of payment processing and related technologies. The Payments BA team is responsible for all regulatory/compliance, commercial, and market changes within the payments area.
This position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, with very limited travel required. Daily coordination between teams in India and Denmark is necessary. You will work in an agile environment with rapidly changing requirements and priorities. You will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and the technology team for necessary changes in the payment system.
Responsibilities
- Produce business requirements after understanding the needs of business stakeholders and act as the link between business and IT teams.
- Generate payment reporting for internal and external stakeholders both on an ad hoc basis and in BI dashboards.
- Coordinate with regulatory experts regarding changes in payment regulations and specify needed changes back to the team and the line organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance payment solutions and services.
- Analyze business requirements, processes, and data to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions.
- Have a deep understanding of payment messaging, instant funding solutions, and market standards.
- Clearly communicate business cases and recommendations to both technical and business stakeholders.
Your profile
Experience in stakeholder management and decision-making in a fast-paced environment is essential. Demonstrating a curious, collaborative, and outgoing nature, you thrive in diverse settings. Prior experience in a business analysis role is required. Familiarity with the payments domain, including knowledge of payment messaging and clearing systems such as ISO 20022, SEPA, SIC, and Open Banking, is advantageous. Technical skills to extract and analyze data from a database or similar (e.g., SQL, Python) are also important.
