Summary of Role:

SunPower is seeking a Senior Consumer Finance Paralegal to provide support for its wholly-owned subsidiary, SunPower Financial, as well as other areas where SunPower’s attorneys require support. A desire to provide world-class legal solutions to customers is a must. As part of the legal department, this position focuses on supporting the Company’s consumer finance attorney. This is a great opportunity to be part of a close-knit, cross-functional team of talented and creative individuals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting consumer finance attorney in a variety of tasks related to making certain that SunPower Financial and SunPower is in compliance will all applicable consumer laws and regulations. 
  • Create and maintain organized database of documents for the consumer finance legal team.
  • Acts as liaison between company attorneys, outside counsel, organizations and in-house team members. 
  • May collect and summarize legal research and may assemble proofs and edit drafts of contracts, consumer facing communications, policies and procedures.
  • Review, track and summarize (as needed) pending and enacted legislation impacting SunPower Financial.
  • Conduct legal and/or business research, provide timely and relevant information, and respond to legal inquiries.
  • Provide administrative support and participate in department initiatives and projects, as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Minimum 6+ years in law firm and/or in-house setting;
  • Good business judgment and high ethical standards;
  • Familiarity with new technologies and computing programs;
  • Strong communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and written;
  • Strong analytic, influencing, negotiation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong administrative skills and keen attention to detail;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and high priority tasks independently;
  • Enthusiastic team player, good sense of humor, proactive self-starter and quick learner;
  • Experience with review and drafting of consumer contracts;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Must be able to engage in domestic travel as needed.
  • Candidate must be legally entitled to work and reside in the United States.
  • Notary public preferred.
