Develop robust and reliable manufacturing processes related to powder and liquid painting processes to support regular operations, NPD programs, and productivity initiatives in Monterrey facility. The painting PQE should constantly meet Product/Project Costs, Quality, and implementation schedule established by the project while being a mentor for the operations team in all painting operations at the Compressors Plant (Screw & Scroll).
Where is the work: This position will be located in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon.
What you will do:
Apply highly technical skills in developing painting processes (powder coating and liquid) achieving Process Control and Capability requirements, while meeting safety requirements.
Define process parameters and specifications, approval protocols, runoff, and installation requirements for NPDs and capital equipment related to the painting processes.
Perform advanced problem solving using 6-Sigma, DOE, A3, 9 step problem solving, and 5-why tools to systematically determine root cause.
Develop, maintain, and improve painting operations through deep analysis of critical finishing requirements and specifications.
Design/select best in class equipment and processes, define inspection protocols and develop process monitoring and support engineering, customer and design requirements.
Analyze, develop and implement process improvements in painting operations for Scroll and Screw processes.
Perform administrative tasks as part of project implementation: purchase orders and follow up (Capital, equipment, fixtures, and tools).
Measure, analyze and improve indicators in SQDIP (SCRAP, FPY, DPU's, Downtime and Efficiency of painting lines equipment).
Develop and update Control Plans, PFMEAs, JSAs and ergonomic studies related to machining and assembly processes. Follow up to the EHS scorecard metrics.
Collaborate in Opex initiatives as VSAs, RIEs, and Gembas.
Assure the setup process and apply SMED on color changes
What you will bring:
Mechanical/Industrial/Mechatronic BSc degree, preferrable MSc Materials, Mechanical Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality or similar. Manufacturing/Process/Quality Engineer with at least 10 years on powder painting and liquid paint processes.
Project Management, Team management, strong communication skills.
Very competent/mentor on Lean Manufacturing, Material flow, DMAIC, MiniTab, TPM, Autocad & NPDs.
Advanced knowledge of English

- Experience designing/selecting painting equipment, inspection protocols, and process monitoring
- Competence in Lean Manufacturing, material flow, DMAIC, TPM, and SMED (color change setup)
- Proficiency with MiniTab and AutoCAD
- Project management and team management experience; strong communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of English
