Senior Operator - Logistics & Planning 

Blackgrange, Stirling 

Permanent Contract 

Closing Date: 19/02/2025 

 

We are delighted to share that we have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Operator to join us within our Logistics and Planning team within our Blackgrange site in Stirling  

 

Base salary £40,646.00 + competitive benefits package including pension, shares scheme and bonus. 

 

As a Senior Operator within Logistics & Planning, you will work a total of 38 hours per week between 07.00 - 15.30 Monday to Thursday and 07.00 - 13.00 on Friday.

About The Site 

 

Blackgrange and Cambus are key sites within the Scotch Spirit Supply Chain. The sites consist of filling, warehousing & disgorging for malt and grain spirits. It is a very busy site, taking spirit in cask from the filling stores and supplying whisky to packaging, and third parties and operates all year round.  

 

Blackgrange warehousing consists of traditional, rack and pallet cask operations and the site will see significant investment in additional modern warehousing. 

 

About the Role 

 

As a member of our Planning & Logistics team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the operational plan for our Cambus and Blackgrange sites.  

 

This role encompasses both IMPROVE projects and the RUN aspects of business planning, with a focus on enhancing efficiencies and optimising our planning and logistics processes. You will also work closely with our on-site third-party logistics teams, overseeing fleet coordination and ensuring effective management to enable the successful execution of the weekly plan. 

 

Main responsibilities will include: 

  • Planning and managing logistics rotas. 

  • Coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure the seamless execution of the plan. 

  • Supporting the efficient operation of site operations. 

  • Upholding Diageo’s Health & Safety commitments. 

 

At its core, this role requires you to be a trusted source of expertise, offering guidance, sharing knowledge, and confidently challenging behaviours on-site to drive continuous improvement. 

 

Health and safety compliance is key, and you will be at the forefront of making sure this is monitored alongside ensuring both site and personal KPI’s are achieved.    

 

About You 

 

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who is computer literate, with ideally some experience using Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail, the ability to analyse data effectively, and a proactive approach to problem-solving will be key to excelling in this position. A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment will also be highly valued. 

  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to collaborate across all levels across sites.  

  • Well-organised, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively for yourself and others . 

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and environmental risk principles.  

  • Capable of collaborating effectively within a team and working independently, demonstrating strong attention to detail. 

  • Passionate about improving processes and strive for change.
