Senior Operator – Royal Canin Manufacturing (Fremont, NE)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 06:00–14:30
Position Overview
Royal Canin Fremont is seeking a dedicated Senior Operator to lead sanitation and production operations, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and team performance. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in food manufacturing who are passionate about driving operational excellence and supporting associate development.
Key Responsibilities
Sanitation Leadership:
- Guide and monitor weekly Master Sanitation Schedule activities.
- Lead sanitation and hypoallergenic cleaning tasks, ensuring timely completion and compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Develop weekly crewing plans and allocate tasks to sanitation team members.
- Ensure QSSM compliance and coordinate amendments in collaboration with R&D.
Operational Excellence:
- Maintain operational standards and drive daily site sanitation operations.
- Make quality and process decisions to ensure products meet Brand specifications.
- Support and coach up to 20 associates and contractors per shift.
- Fill in for line manager as needed and provide leadership across multiple process areas.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce use of personal protective equipment and compliance with RC and legal requirements.
- Ensure adherence to security, environmental, and fire protection policies.
- Support implementation and improvement of quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, Mars Standards).
- Ensure compliance with CCPs and oPRPs; manage non-conformities and corrective actions.
Quality & Continuous Improvement:
- Perform standard quality checks and other quality-related duties.
- Maintain accurate records for audits and inspections.
- Analyze and resolve root causes of issues, ensuring quality is prioritized in decision-making.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years’ experience in food manufacturing.
- Flexible to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to create a safe work environment.
- Experience with equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Proficient in basic desktop computer systems and inventory control principles.
- Forklift operation experience preferred.
- Knowledge of production schedules, plant products, and Mars systems.
