Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Operations Research Analyst to provide advanced analytical support to defense-related programs in Pax River, MD. The successful candidate will apply mathematical modeling, optimization techniques, and data analysis to inform decision-making, policy formulation, and managerial functions. This role involves developing decision support tools, optimizing logistics networks, and promoting data sharing and collaboration in a net-centric environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and apply mathematical modeling, simulation, and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with tactical and strategic decision-making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets; develop decision support software, services, products, or tools to enhance program evaluation and implementation.
- Develop and supply optimal solutions for time, cost, or logistics networks, supporting program review, evaluation, and execution.
- Design and implement appropriate methodologies, frameworks, and analytical approaches to address organizational objectives and drive measurable results.
- Reinforce strategic information sharing objectives, fostering an environment that supports net-centricity, data sharing, collaboration, and interoperability across defense programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, program managers, and stakeholders, to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Prepare reports, briefings, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to leadership and clients.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of experience in operations research, systems analysis, or a related analytical role, preferably supporting DoD or naval aviation programs.
- Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance required; ability to maintain clearance is essential.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in mathematical modeling, optimization tools (e.g., linear programming, simulation software), and statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB, or similar).
- Experience with data analytics, decision support systems, and logistics network optimization.
- Knowledge of net-centric warfare principles, data sharing protocols, and collaboration tools in defense environments.
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting NAVAIR or naval programs at Patuxent River.
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, program management, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and experience in developing frameworks for complex objectives.
