SMX is seeking a highly experienced Senior Operations & Administrative Support Specialist to provide dedicated executive-level support to the senior military leadership of the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) Tactical Mission Networks (TMN) Division. This role serves as the operational backbone for TMN Division leadership, ensuring the seamless execution of command functions, knowledge management, and strategic communications. The successful candidate will possess a thorough understanding of Special Operations Forces (SOF) culture, military staff processes, and the unique operational tempo of a Combatant Command headquarters environment. This individual must exercise sound judgment, demonstrate initiative, and maintain the highest standards of discretion and professionalism when interacting with general officers, senior executive service personnel, and interagency partners.
This position is Hybrid and requires onsite support at USASOC Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Therefore, prefer candidates currently residing in the area.
This position requires an active DoD Secret clearance with Top Secret eligibility which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Command Products & Knowledge Management
- Design, develop, and maintain command briefing products, to include executive-level slide decks, decision briefs, information papers, and operational summaries for TMN Division leadership.
- Apply command formatting standards and visual identity guidelines to all Division products, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with USSOCOM briefing protocols.
- Manage the TMN Division knowledge management (KM) ecosystem, including SharePoint sites, shared drives, and document repositories; ensure version control, access permissions, and archival standards are maintained.
- Collect, consolidate, and format recurring reporting products including Personnel Status (PERSTAT) reports and Situation Reports (SITREPs); distribute to appropriate stakeholders on established timelines.
- Develop and maintain SOPs and job aids for recurring administrative and operational support functions.
- Manage the daily and long-range calendars of TMN Division senior military leadership; de-conflict scheduling across multiple time zones and stakeholders.
- Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate command meetings, working groups, and executive engagements; prepare read-aheads, agendas, and action item trackers.
- Capture meeting minutes and track resulting action items to closure; provide regular status updates to leadership
- Serve as primary point of contact for scheduling inbound and outbound engagements involving flag officers, SES personnel, and interagency counterparts
- Plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects of official travel for TMN Division leadership, including the preparation of travel authorization requests, orders, and Visitor Authorization Requests (VARs) in accordance with applicable regulations and USASOC and Defense travel policies.
- Submit, track, and resolve facility and installation access requests for personnel, visitors, and contractors; liaise with security offices and building managers as required.
- Ensure all travel and access documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted within required timelines; maintain records of approvals and correspondence.
- Monitor and reconcile government travel card transactions and prepare required documentation for reimbursement.
- Perform the full range of executive assistant functions in direct support of TMN Division leadership, including correspondence management, task tracking, and workflow prioritization.
- Prepare, proofread, and staff formal and informal correspondence, memoranda, and executive communications.
- Coordinate with adjacent TMN Division sections, USSOCOM J-staff directorates, and external organizations on behalf of Division leadership.
- Maintain strict information security and discretion with respect to classified and sensitive command information.
- Serve as the TMN Division focal point for administrative policy compliance, staff actions, and command tasker management.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Required clearance: Active Secret (Active TS preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Communications, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive administrative or operational support experience in a DoD, or defense contractor environment supporting senior military or civilian leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in a Special Operations or Combatant Command headquarters environment, with a practical understanding of SOF culture, command relationships, and USASOC organizational structure.
- Proven ability to produce polished, professional command briefing products using Microsoft PowerPoint in a military headquarters context.
- Hands-on experience preparing and managing Visitor Authorization Requests (VARs), official travel orders, and access control documentation.
- Experience collecting and managing PERSTAT and SITREP data across geographically dispersed units or teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams); experience with SharePoint as a knowledge management platform.

- Familiarity with TMN Division mission areas, including tactical communications, network infrastructure, or C4I systems in support of SOF operations.
- Certification or formal training in knowledge management, records management, or information management (e.g., ARMA, DoD KM certification).
- Experience with defense contractor administrative systems, program management support, and CDRL deliverable tracking.
- Working knowledge of USSOCOM administrative regulations, SOF doctrine, and applicable DoD issuances (DoDI 1000-series, DoD 5200-series).
- Familiarity with J3/J6 operational staff functions and the Joint Planning Process (JPP).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent training.
- Active DoD Top Secret security clearance preferred.
