Shell Energy is expanding its Demand Response (DR) and distributed energy solutions to support commercial and industrial customers as Australia transitions to cleaner, more dynamic energy markets.
We’re looking for a Senior Operations Analyst to join our dedicated DR team. In this role, you’ll manage day‑to‑day DR operations, enable participation in existing and emerging energy markets, and help deliver a seamless customer experience across Shell Energy’s C&I portfolio.
With respect, integrity and honesty you will:
- Manage onboarding, testing and dispatch of customer DR assets
- Analyse and troubleshoot dispatch events and customer performance
- Identify and implement operational and process improvements
- Support Shell Energy’s participation in key DR programs, including:
- RERT and other AEMO initiatives
- Frequency markets (FCAS, Fast Frequency Response)
- Wholesale Demand Response Mechanism
- State and network support programs
- Translate market and program requirements into clear inputs for systems, sales and operations
- Support system and tool enhancements to enable scalable growth
Who you’ll work with:
You’ll collaborate closely with Trading, Technical, Regulatory, Strategy, Sales and IT teams, as well as external stakeholders such as AEMO and network service providers.
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
- Relevant experience in the energy or utilities sector, including wholesale markets
- Strong operational and market knowledge
- Advanced Excel and intermediate to advanced SQL skills
- Experience improving end‑to‑end operational processes
- Excellent organisation, problem‑solving and stakeholder engagement skills
- Nice to have: experience in demand response, demand management, solar or battery programs.
