Position Summary:

Hillwood Investments Properties (HIP) is seeking a Senior Operations Analyst to join its growing Operations team in Dallas, Texas.  Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this role managing incentive compensation administration, operational and financial reporting, and performance analytics across the HIP platform. It plays a key role in enhancing reporting capabilities through systems optimization, automation, and data visualization.

The Senior Analyst will own and enhance compensation-related data, database, and processes, and contribute to the design and administration of incentive compensation plans aligned with HIP’s overall compensation strategy. In addition, this role partners closely with the FP&A manager to support financial planning, forecasting, and performance reporting. Building on a foundation of established tools, metrics, and systems, the Senior Analyst leads the analysis and communication of key financial and operational insights and collaborates closely with senior leadership and cross functional teams including, Accounting, Capital Markets, Regional Teams, Legal, and Acquisitions and Dispositions.

Primary Responsibilities:

Compensation and Incentive Administration:

  • Administer HIP’s incentive compensation programs, including target-based plans, Short-Term Incentive Plan (STIP), and Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP).
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to gather and analyze market compensation data and provide market-based recommendations for internal associates and prospective new hires.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance complex compensation models and standardized templates to streamline incentive calculations and payments.
  • Conduct compensation plan analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend enhancements to plan design, policies, and administration.
  • Present compensation findings and recommendations to business leaders and senior management to support the creation of new positions and projected compensation.
  • Manage and improve HIP’s internal compensation database, including project-level STIP calculations.
  • Prepare reporting and analysis to support the annual compensation review process.
  • Calculate and distribute quarterly incentive payments.
  • Support the administration of Associate Investment Opportunity Plans (AIOP).

Financial Planning, Reporting and Analytics:

  • Partner with FP&A Manager to enhance cash planning and forecasting tools for investment and corporate cash flow needs.
  • Analyze project-level financial performance and projections to inform decision-making and optimize financial strategies.
  • Coordinate with Capital Markets, Regional Investment and Development Teams, and Accounting to monitor budgeted spend relative to approvals and plan for investments requiring additional equity funding.
  • Work across departments to align financial data, reporting, and assumptions in support of strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Lead the coordination and preparation of annual business level budgets.
  • Develop, maintain, and report on key operational and financial performance metrics, highlighting trends and variance for senior leadership.
  • Maintain tracking mechanisms for intercompany loans, ensuring compliance with financial protocols and obligations.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of shared services cost allocations to HIP to ensure accuracy and alignment with approved costs.
  • Prepare detailed summaries of closed transactions and capital events, providing insights into outcomes.
  • Develop, update, and maintain financial models for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Support and respond to ad hoc requests from business leaders related to operational and performance analysis.

Systems, Reporting and Process Improvement:

  • Collaborate with Corporate IT and HIP IT resources to support automated reporting, forecasting, and performance analytics, including data visualization and warehouses.
  • Participate in technology initiatives aimed at improving data accuracy, accessibility, and efficiency.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve the scalability and effectiveness of HIP’s reporting, analytics, and compensation processes.

  • Skilled in using analytical tools and systems to streamline processes, enhance productivity and communicate insights.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field required.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in financial planning, analytics, operations, compensation analysis, or a related finance role.
  • Proven experience supporting  business leaders and influencing decision-making through data and analysis.  
  • Strong working knowledge of financial reporting systems and related technology systems.
  • Experience with reporting, analytics, and visualization tools, including Power BI, Tableau, QuickBase, OneStream, or similar tools strongly preferred.
  • Python programming experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization, dashboard development, and database management preferred.
  • Real Estate industry experience strongly preferred.
