About us

Seccl is the Octopus-owned embedded investment platform that’s on a mission to help more people to invest – and invest well.

We’re B-Corp certified with an amazing product-market fit, impressive early traction, and the potential to transform an outdated industry, for the better. We've been growing fast and will scale even faster over the next few years.

We’re also proud to be part of Octopus, the £multi-billion group that's on a mission to breathe new life into broken industries, through companies like Octopus Energy, Octopus Investments and Octopus Money.

Check out the Seccl website for the latest on our products and our mission to shape the future of investments.

The role

We're looking for a Senior Operations Analyst to join our high-performing team - someone with a keen eye for spotting patterns, getting to the root cause of issues, and driving meaningful improvements. In this role, you'll take ownership of the most complex operational issues, working collaboratively across operations, and, when needed, product and engineering, to resolve them swiftly and sustainably.

You’ll have previous experience working in an investment platform. You'll be the subject matter expert (SME) for key processes throughout the trading lifecycle, helping the wider team stay confident in our platform's performance and compliance. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, tech-led environment and enjoys a balance of daily delivery and long-term improvement work.

On a typical day, you will be…
  • Leading the resolution of complex trading operational issues, from triage through to root cause analysis and remediation

  • Coordinating cross-functional investigations into incidents, identifying improvements that prevent recurrence.

  • Working closely with product and engineering to ensure fixes are embedded in our technology where appropriate

  • Acting as the team's go-to expert for high-risk or intricate processes, supporting colleagues with escalations and training

  • Working with the wider operations team to develop processes for error correction and monitor profit and loss.

  • Supporting daily outcomes as needed, including controls testing - contributing to a high-performing team

  • Championing strong operational controls and CASS, COBS, MIFID compliance, even as we scale.

This role is for you if...
  • You have a background of working within a Trading Operations team and an understanding of trade flows across funds and exchange traded instruments.

  • You're a confident problem-solver who enjoys digging into detail and getting to the bottom of issues

  • You're comfortable working across multiple items, acting as the driving force to resolution and improvement

  • You thrive on autonomy, take ownership of outcomes, and follow through on what you start.

  • Youre technically minded. Strong Excel skills are essential. Knowledge of Looker and MS Power Platform is desirable but not essential.

  • You enjoy coaching others, sharing your knowledge, and lifting the team around you

  • You're clear and confident in your communication - whether writing an incident report or explaining an issue to a colleague

This role isn’t for you if...
  • You rely on a lot of top-down direction. Here, you’ll have a lot of freedom and ownership of your role, and you’ll be expected to shape your own progression

  • You’re not comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Our speed and scalability are what set us apart; you need to be able to act quickly and think on your feet

  • You struggle to follow through on ideas. We value people who do what they say they will. If you care about something, you have the freedom here to make it happen

  • You don’t like change. You’ll get on great here if you relish the ambiguity of rapid growth and are willing to embrace uncertainty

What’s in it for you…

What We Do

Seccl is the Octopus-owned embedded investment platform that’s helping more people to invest – and invest well.

Our sector is being held back by old tech, dismal processes and misaligned interests. Together they create pointless complexity for financial planning and investment professionals, and provide outdated, overpriced experiences for customers.

We started afresh, with a low-cost, hyper-efficient and (genuinely) API-first technology infrastructure, which supports firms at the forefront of our changing industry.

Working around a principle of collaborative innovation, our technology and operations power the investment platforms of some of the UK’s most forward-thinking financial planning and wealth management firms, including P1 and Radiant.

They also help ambitious, fast-growth technology businesses – such as GoHenry, Penfold and Crowdcube – to launch and maintain their investment propositions more quickly and affordably than ever before.

A regulated custodian and ISA/SIPP provider, we have the disruptive mindset and ambitious mission to shake things up, along with the commitment and substance to not screw them up.

We’re proud to be part of Octopus, the £12.5 billion group that's on a mission to breathe new life into broken industries, through companies like Octopus Energy, Octopus Investments and Octopus Ventures.
