We are looking for a Senior Operational Risk Analyst to join us in a group-level role with impact across all functions including product, operations, technology, compliance, dealing etc. You'll help identify, assess and manage risks all the way to full mitigation, analyse processes for improvements. In this role, you'll prepare clear risk reports for senior leadership, maintain our risk register, and contribute to the ongoing development of our risk and governance frameworks, ensuring we stay aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.

Responsabilities

  • Provide guidance, support, review and constructive challenge as required for the process of identification, assessment, and documentation of operational risks across key business areas
  • Analyse internal processes to detect potential weaknesses or vulnerabilities and drive improvements of areas identified
  • Prepare and deliver where required detailed risk reports on a regular and ad hoc basis for senior leadership, risk committees, and regulatory bodies, highlighting risk trends, control effectiveness, and areas requiring attention.
  • Maintain the risk register (including event logging and investigation, categorisation, and root-cause analysis, mitigation), ensuring it is comprehensive, up-to-date, and aligned with the organisation's risk framework.
  • Support regular reviews of the operational risk management framework, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

     

    • Understanding of Risk Management assessment methodologies and frameworks.

    • Ideally 5+ years' experience in a 1st/2nd line role in financial services with a focus on Operational Risk.
    • Experience with operational risk event management, including incident identification, registration, management, escalation, and remediation/action tracking.

    • Familiarity with the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process.

    • Familiarity with AI tools and their practical application to automate manual steps within Operational Risk processes, with a continuous improvement mindset.
    • Strong written and verbal skills & confidence and experience of Microsoft Office tools.

    • Excellent stakeholder management skills, ability to liaise across risk, compliance, and IT teams.

    • Experience in a professional services (consulting, financial services etc) is a plus

    • Professional qualification (IRM/FRM) is a plus

Skills Required

  • Understanding of risk management assessment methodologies and frameworks
  • 5+ years of experience in a first- or second-line operational risk role within financial services
  • Experience managing operational risk events, including identification, registration, escalation, remediation, and action tracking
  • Familiarity with the Risk and Control Self-Assessment process
  • Familiarity with AI tools and their practical application to operational risk processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools
